Why Do They Have To Get Old!

I'm so sorry for all of you who have lost sweet chicken friends. It's difficult to explain the attachment to people who don't tend them closely. I have a large flock of mixes and non mixes but there are a couple who have my heart.
It hurts when we loose them. But there is comfort in the knowing they were loved and we have a place to go and share our grief and joy with others of like mind. I'm thankful for the friendships and support I have found amongst the BYC family! :hugs

You are right our BYC family is an awesome place to be especially with fine people like you and all the others that make up this incredible group. Thanks to all of you from this friends heart!:love

My chickens are pets with the added benefit of fresh eggs. They are more than chickens to me. My chickens can tell when I’m down and they come and cheer me up. They are smart, intelligent, & loving creatures that will always have a special place in my heart.

Thank you for your kind words. I consider all of my chickens as part of my family. If a person has never owned or raised chickens as pets then they will never understand the connection that we have with them.

I've had 10 hatch so far but two are still absorbing the yolk so only 8 in the brooder, one is hiding in the middle! :lau

I just Candled my eggs in my Incubator Day 10. There is good healthy signs in 4 of the 6 eggs. So looks like I may hatch my own for the 1st time!:woot
