Why do we stop getting notifications?

This has happened to me 5 or 6 times now. I think it's like if you don't reply to a thread after a certain amount of time but give reactions to the posts, it stops giving you notifications, but if you go back to the thread it says your still watching it. This has happened to me, @PippinTheChicken, @AngBantamLuv, @ForTheLoveOfSilkies,
and I think it happens to @LadiesAndJane. People have also tagged me in threads and I don't get the alert. Why? @Nifty-Chicken @casportpony
