Why I am Vegan

That is true of some.
Some don't mind using leather from animals that died of natural causes. Others are practical enough to realize that, if an animal is killed for meat the leather might as well be used.

That I find very hypocritical.

I don't. If a vegan lives in a society where people kill animals for meat why demand that the hides of those animals go to waste?

It's not a problem for me either way. I am a meat eater.

I have a hard time "labeling" my husband's diet....he certainly does not eat meat, vegetables (except potatoes), or fruits. His diet exclusively is peanut butter, bread, potato chips, mashed potatoes, Chex cereal or Cheerios, tolerated popcorn, loves desserts without nuts, fruits in them and eating out, it would be grilled cheese sandwiches and FF.

I wanted to say he may be vegan on the extreme side. With all the bloodwork being done on him, he comes out with flying colors and he has this diet since he was eight or nine years old. He is now 47 years old. I am surprised that he didn't have any health issues so far except for muscle cramps (he won't eat bananas but will take gummi vitamins for kids) and painful joints. Tested negative for gout which we thought at one time when a swelling just has not gone down for weeks. He donates blood to the Red Cross often as possible and only four times during his lifetime, he has been turned down because his iron level was too low.

With me, I love red meat but they don't like me and I may have to cough up more money to buy organic meats because I do notice the differences in taste and no chemicals to affect me. I can not wait for Farmer's Market to start back up again in the spring.

Ask the Vegans about Stearic Acid, an animal product.

Stearic Acid is made from Animals and used in the production of Tires. So to be a true Vegan you can not travel in cars.

With or without vegans the hides don't go to waste. If they are so committed to the thought that killing an animal is wrong they shouldn't be willing to use anything from that animal.....meat or leather or other by-products. JMO

yep.

I have an autoimmune disease. If I ate a vegan diet I would be in so very very sick. I have a very hard digesting starches. It wasn't until I started eating a Paleo/SCD diet did I have great improvements in my health. I don't buy factory meat, all my meat comes from local organic farmers and what I hunt.

It is a religion to the vegan and nobody follows their religion to the letter.

LOL!! Why do you assume that vegans have a better quality of life than meat eaters?

Can you see a group of vegan men,[oxymoron, at best] standing around the grill, discussing the recipes and techniques to barbeque a potato?
