Why is my hen's butt balding?

Hey guys. So I see this question commonly asked on here. I read through some threads to see that a lot of you guys said that this is a common sign of mites or picking. So I have 3 hens. 2 are BCM's and one I believe is a BCM-Barred Rock mix. They all came from the same place. These birds were given to me as chicks. From chick-hood I have noticed genetic faults. For example, a few of these girls Brothers kept getting "weird toe stuff" the toe would swell real big. It looked like a Staff infection but nothing helped it. I treated them for everything I could think of but eventually I chalked it up genetic stuff. A few of them also had cross beak. Since I was in need of hens I bit the bullet and kept a few (they looked healthy and fine at the time). Now, all 3 have bald butts! I thoroughly checked for mites/any other creepy crawlies and my birds are free of all pests! I have been keeping an especially close eye for picking too but everyone's playing nice! So, is it possible that this is yet another genetic fault??! Thank you for any insight!
