why is she screaming ?

When I try to pick up mt goose Gwen a 3 1/2 week old seebie she screams like I'm killing her. It's one of those pierce curdling screams that makes you jump. What's wrong? i'm I picking her up wrong? I've tried several different ways. letting her feet dangle, scooping her so her feet don't dangle. sitting her in my lap and standing up. HELP i want to be able to hold my girl.

This is completely normal. It's like an instinctual response related to when a predator is after them. All of the goslings I've raised have done it to some extent but some are worse than others. You are exactly right that you would think you were killing them the way they carry on. I do find that if you turn them over on their side a bit while you're carrying them they seem to calm down a little.
