Why is there a black dot in my egg while candling?

I am at day 17 of incubation and noticed a black dot in my egg? It is not connected to anything and moves around when i move the egg. I know that this egg will not hatch but what does the dot mean?

I'm Not sure what the dark spot is but I do believe that egg died a week or so ago. I'm sorry. It's not nearly as full as it should be for 10 days incubation, let alone day 17.

The dot is most likely where the egg began to develop but died shortly after

It could be a meat spot. Unfortunately the egg is dead, so it'd be best to remove it from the incubator so you don't risk contaminating the rest of your eggs.
