Why Jax (our older GSD) needs to be worried

I've never commented about your dogs (my cats would get jealous) but I love seeing them and I just have to say Kane has grown into a stunning dog! Jax is handsome too, but Kane is really a beautiful dog.

Yes, Kane is a long-hair. Both GSDs, from east (sire) and west (dam) german lines. Cousins/brothers, they have the same sire and their dams are full sisters.
Thanks for the compliments. We do love these boys so much.

Interesting how just one dog difference can make one long and one short. Do you know which is dominant? Did the rest of the litters have short/long respectively?

Grits, you whisper in Jax's ear that he just as good looking as his baby bro, Gigantor. If he reads this thread he's going to have a complex!

They are both very nice looking dogs. I have to admit that I think Jax is a super hunk. Little bro needs to grow into himself a little more

How tall are they at the shoulder? My Foenix is 27.5 inches at the shoulder, considered very tall for a GSD and outside of the standard for height.

Also Wolfwoman, GSDs can be long haired as well, I think most have shorter hair but there is also a long hair gene, as well as different color and coat patterns and stuff too, I think it really depends on the parents and the particular line as well as genetics.

Interesting information there KDOGG331. I actually didn't know that Kane was long haired when I picked him out (@ 5 weeks old). I just wanted the darkest pup out of the litter and that happened to be Kane. He still doesn't have his full coat yet. Still has puppy fluff on his hind quarters, but just a little.

Wolfwoman, just about every pup I've seen from the boys breeder is a medium coat, but look in their pedigree and what do we find but a semi- longhaired, Jax and Kane's grandsire:

Jamie Okay, measured. Jax comes out to be about 26, Kane 27.5.

Brindle Out with the boys this evening and DH told Jax he wish he was as big as Kane. I slapped him for Jax. Jax is built for speed, Kane is built for bulldozing. Both boys are special in their own right.
