Why Jax (our older GSD) needs to be worried

I'm not a big fan of GSD. Where I use to live in TX we had a real problem with them loose in neighborhoods and killing cats. I lost a loved young cat and a doxie puppy to 2 different ones wihin a month. Animal Control never even tried to act concerened (despite the fact that I lived a block from an elementary school) until a child was put in ICU from one.

I believe aggression isn't breed specific, that it's a learned behavior from their enviornment. It's the same reason I don't believe pittbulls are any more dangerous than any other dog. However, I do believe imbreeding is a major cause of aggression because of brain development. Shame GSDs are so inbred (and have the bad hips to show it) because until my incidents I quite loved them.

With my bad opinion of them having been noted, I agree Jax needs to be worried. Lil bro is a handsome bug. He's the epitome of the "Tall, Dark and Handsome" of the dog world. He's got this devilish rogue look, like the dark side guy from the State Farm commercial LOL! Whereas Jax reminds me of the buff bald guy in the Old Spice commercials ROFLMAO!

If we let them know that someone is a friend of ours then that person becomes a friend of theirs. If we are nervous around someone then they become very alert, without being aggressive.
It's all in the training.

Dragoneggs, I'm sorry you have problems with loose dogs in you neighborhood. However, the problems in your neigborhood are caused by the dog's owners and not by the dogs. I would keep your pets out of harm's way.

I am lovin your pouches!! I have two half breed GSD boys and love them to death!! Your pure ones are very beautiful. We are waiting for our old man yellow lab to live his life in peace till the end before getting our Yuko line GSD. I'll be looking for a Bi-Colored Male or all Blk Male. Thanks Beth! Maybe you could post pics of your boys sometime?
I was talking with the boys breeder this morning via email. They wanted to know if the boys were showing their protective side yet. Only all the time, but in different ways. Jax is the one that will bark and definitely make a stranger aware of his presence. Kane just sits quietly and watches.
Very closely related, but also very different. Same mannerisms and traits, but totally different personalities.​

I am sorry Dragoneyes with the problems you have seen there. But it really isn't like that for the breed.
There are different lines of German Shepherds. The American showlines show the most inbreeding and lack of stability as far as health. Go East to the DDR lines and they can be a major handful for any novice and really should only be owned by a knowledge able handler. You also have Canadian lines, Australian lines, Czech lines and they all have a different body set and developmental stages.
I have German working lines. They have stable hips and temperament. Not overly assertive in their prey drive but always willing to work.
Like Gritsar's boys my two boys are very different and are full brothers from the same litter. It is wonderful to see how different they can be.
