Why the lungs have black spots

I don’t know what would have caused the black material and blood clots on the lungs. I don’t butcher chickens, and when I have done necropsies, have never seen that. I will look for some info to see if aspergillosis or something else might cause that.

What is your location? Was the liver normal or discolored? Viruses and bacterial infections can cause lung lesions. Heart and liver disorders could also be possible. If you are in the US, I would be tempted to send this body off to your state vet for a necropsy. The body must be kept cold, but not frozen.

THANK YOU for stepping in. Most appreciated.
