UPDATE!!!! I awoke to my Husky and Great Py barking at 4:20am. I thought they had to go out. When I opened the door, my Fiona ran into the house whining. All heck broke loose here!
After looking her over, I agreed with some of you that said you were sure that someone probably had her. That was until I was scratching her neck, and felt something attached to her collar. In all the commotion I never noticed it.
It was a note wrapped around her collar with a fishing stringer to hold it there. It said, "yer dog were in my trp srry"
So I'm assuming she was in someone's havahart trap because she doesn't have any injuries from a leg trap. If she was in a havahart trap, it probably saved her life. Our county, (Hawkins) is full of coyote and a neighbor not 5 miles away has lost 5 pygmy goats and 4 dogs to them. It's suggested where I live at night not to roam outside alone without a gun because they hunt in packs here.
I didn't go to bed until 2am. I'm figuring that the person with the trap went to check his traps around 4am, found her and released her. (Thank goodness)
Other than being tired and hungry, she's fine.
I want to thank everyone on BYC for their support. She, right now, is lying next to me, sound asleep. I've seen this community come together for alot of things. And some people may think I'm nuts to come unglued over a missing dog but I promised her the day I picked her up from the Mahoning Pound in Ohio 2 1/2 years ago that I would never let anything happen to her and I meant it.
Now as soon as dawn breaks, instead of looking for her, we can go collect her posters we put out.
Thank you again, BYC!
Laurie & Fiona!
