WI have a sick duckling. Please help

I bought my duckling on may 15,2015. I'm not sure how old it is. I have 12 ducklings altogether. This morning one couldn't walk. It is trying but can't maintain balance,but it can still swim. It also wont eat. If anyone can help me I would be so grateful. I can't find a vet in my area who deals with ducks.

Looks like the FLooring is a tab bit slippery??

This could be an infection - how long has it had these symptoms? Has it been out and about and could it have eaten something toxic? You can put a teaspoon of food grade activated charcoal powder in a pint of water and let him or her drink from that - it absorbs toxins.

If it is an infection, then antibiotics are needed right away - you can get them at a feed store.

Good advice but I don't think this is an infection. It's lack of Naicin and could be the flooring.

It has been out and about but I doubt it consumed any toxins. It's symptoms have been around for about 12 hours. I am already on the antibiotics. Is that the same as poultry vitamins? From what I've read it will kill infections and parasites?

I don't think Toxin is the issue here, poultry Vitamins isn't the same as antibotics?

Do you have a parasite issue??

Thanks, Kathy

@reefitz

Poultry vitamins are similar to human One-A-Day, vitamin supplements. Not antibiotics - those kill bacteria.

Correct, that got me a little confused too?

BINGO, I think that is part of the problem as well as the flooring, Looks like the duck can't get his grip and keeps slidding
Thanks, that's why I called for help . . . more brains working on the question, better options for the duckie.

I took your advice and put a towel down instead of shavings. This is not her permanent home. I have her temporarily sucluded from the other ducks because I wasn't sure if what she has it contagious. This started yesterday, sunday,the 14th. I started giving her an antibacterial drinking solution and a vitamin and electrolyte mixture. Since she is having trouble drinking I am administering through a dropper. I'm hoping this works. Later this afternoon if she seems to gain any strength I will try to put her in the pond with other ducks and try to get her to eat that way. Thanks for all the advice.
