Wicked Snow Storm...

My good friends at work brought me a generator. I hooked up the two fish tanks, the electric fireplace(for heat) and the one heater I have. I also plugged in the stuff for outside, so my rabbits heated water bottles will be on for them I brought the cats downstairs. Got the bathroom heated up to 65 and now have the heater in my living area. The temp in the house actually went up two degrees. I am hoping to have enough gas until at least Midnite, get everything at decent temps before it shuts down again. My good friend offered to rewire the furnace to plug directly into the generator, but that is a last resort. Right now all the animals are comfortable. The fish tanks are getting warmer. They are the most important right now.

My son is bringing me a few gallons of water and food. So the dogs will have water. They still have some left and I gave the last bottle of water to the chickens.

Well it's going down to 10 degrees tonite.

My one cat is sneezing. She is cuddled up with one of the others right now. They don't want to eat, most likely because I moved them, but it was way to cold up there.

After all this the duck still laid an egg and so far 3 of the chickens. Nothing seems to stop them.

I can't get into the run to check the rabbits. They are going to need food soon, so I got to figure that out soon.

Are you living alone with all of those pets?!! Sounds like you really have your hands full.

I do in fact live alone and take care of them all. It's usually not this hard, but those that know me know how creative I can get in a case of emergency. Oddly enough I stay calm and I am able to get stuff done.

I was absolutely lucky to have stuff around to create holding areas for now. I still have to work with the ducks area.

All these animals have been quite the troopers. I'm not quite sure how my fish made it, the water was in the 50's and now up to 70. It was extremely cold for fish.
