Wicked Snow Storm...

Oh, NOOO!
Double whammy with falling trees crushing your run....and a power outage.

Power outage is scarier and more problematic to me, I'm on a well too, plus have hot water heat so lots of pipes full of water.
Hope it comes back on soon.

That limb isn't too big around, maybe 3-4 inches, got a good pruning saw?

Hang in there.

Well they are calling for power to be back on tomorrow.

At what temperature will pipes freeze?

I'm looking for a generator now for my fish tanks and a couple heaters. I'm moving cats from upstairs to downstairs.
The sources I found said 20 degrees F for pipes to freeze.

:fl

Depends on where the pipes are.
Do you have any source of heat in your house?
I have a wood burner insert in lower level that I hope would keep house warm enough-never had to test it yet.
If you're truly worried, might want to open (and leave open) all the faucets to drain pipes, or at least get as much water out of them as possible. Most the water should drain out lowest faucet in house.

Oh geeze, you have tropical fish too?

Wow, I checked this thread hoping that your electricity would be back on now. I have no advice to offer, but plenty of sympathy. Oh, don't forget that toilet tank water can be used as an emergency source.
