Wii Fit proves Me NOT fit!

Hey, me too!

I want wii fit, but I'm wondering if it'll tell me that I'm fat...

Got Wii fit and I used it daily for about 3 months (only the Yoga and strength training), but it eventually gave way to me taking up jogging (my job is pretty physical so I'm not too concerned with weight lifting). But then winter set in and with my night blindness it got too dark too early for me to continue the jogging (in another month I'll start it up again) But was able to lose about 20 lbs with Wii fit in conjunction with a food diary, and once I got jogging I reached my personal goal of to the top of MT. Tabor (I believe your from Portland so you know Tabor) and back after about 2 weeks of going a little higher each time.

But I really haven't used it much since then. But it did change how I think about exercise and my eating habits. To see how everything worked out diet and exercise daily on a graph pushed me and forced me to actually look at labels and realize things like what a real serving size is. What I use to think of a serving of breakfast cereal was really more like 3 or 4, and the milk was about double on it as well.

Which I believe is the real goal of Wii fit. I'm pretty sure they designed it to increase the users awareness of fitness, not to be an be all end all fitness package. But for those that want to get into shape and don't know where to start I'd highly recommend it.

Welcome to BYC!! Congratulations on your weight loss and lifestyle changes! I agree, the WiiFit is definitely not where it should end. I do several fitness things along with it, i.e. bike riding, walking, dance. But the Wii is good for rainy (or icy, snowy days) when I can't get outside to exercise. It came in handy during our arctic blasts this winter! I used to bike ride to the top of Mt Tabor, so I am familiar with that climb. Keep it up!

We just got ours like 3 days ago.... I love it. Can't say enough good about it. We actually went to buy a t.v. and the deal was she gets her wii and wii fit and if I get the tv... So it worked out good. They are always sold out of the wii fit when we go to "window shop" but they stocked the shelves when we were there so it was perfect!

My arms are so sore from boxing this morning... I thought I pulled a muscle. I think it's a good idea to stretch before you play video games, that's a weird concept as the last video game I played a lot was the Super Nintendo when I was in like 5th grade...

The game told my gf that she was like 40 and overweight so I'm a little nervous to try it out. I got a video of her hoola hooping and I about died it was so freaking funny I almost wet my pants....
