Hi All, I live in Lucas Valley California and there are wild peacocks on my family's property (since before we moved in in 2004). THe last peahen had four boys and we only have two peacocks now it seems and no peahen. Can someone identify the breed ... possibly Emerald? It's not a straight up Blue Indian or a Green Java. Some kind of hybrid it seems. Any thoughts on finding and introducing a couple peahens would be helpful.

Thankfully there have been no fires where I live. The wild peacocks on my property handled the smoke (from fires in other areas) fine. If a fire came through our valley it would of course be devastating for ALL animals and people who live here. At least our peacocks do fly pretty well. I hope I never have to find out whether or not they would evacuate themselves to safety.
