I was thinking that very thing too! I didn't say so because I didn't know if anyone else would be old enough to remember . . . no insult intended! Imagine, two brains with one thought! She looks like Groucho Marx.![]()

Jersey Giant Papa? Then she'll likely be a big girl, too ... and with that beautiful plumage and fancy eye make-up, she's gonna be a knock-out. She needs a super-model name!I think she looks weird! I know the dad is a big white jersey giant (Harvey the Great), but mom could be a Delaware or Easter Egger, I don't know which.![]()
Great minds think alike!I was thinking that very thing too! I didn't say so because I didn't know if anyone else would be old enough to remember . . . no insult intended! Imagine, two brains with one thought!![]()
What name do you suggest? She has not been named yet give me an idea that fits her!Jersey Giant Papa? Then she'll likely be a big girl, too ... and with that beautiful plumage and fancy eye make-up, she's gonna be a knock-out. She needs a super-model name!![]()
Your white chicken probably has recessive white, which doesn't show up in the first generation. If you bred her back to her father (I'm assuming he's the white one) you'll get 50% all white chicks.I would have no idea how to do that. My understanding of chicken genetics is at about a - 90%! I still don't understand why a pure white chicken only creates black chickens. .![]()
I think that makes sense, so if any of the black hens I've gotten from my white jersey giant as chicks lay eggs from being fertilized with him they may be white? That's exciting! We'll see what happens!Your white chicken probably has recessive white, which doesn't show up in the first generation.
