Pics
Don't sell yourself short. I would have never guessed you took them with a phone. Those are some very cool pics!

Really like the bird nest one. Thanks for posting :thumbsup

Wanna see what my phone pics look like? Here's one I took of the same hawk I posted earlier before I grabbed my DSLR......

They are of a mourning cloak butterfly. First when it exited its chrysalis, and then the same one later once it flew out of its dirty spiderweby place. (I climbed behind my chicken coop to get the first one, there was not as much space as I thought back there!)
I just found a deformed one of those... left wing is bent over onto the right side. Otherwise nothing wrong except it flips over when trying to fly. Flip is now living in a special needs butterfly terrarium. :D

We one had a tiger swallowtail butterfly who had frozen durring the night! To make matters worse, she landed on the road and her wings were run over (her body was untouched) We found her wile walking our dogs and thought she was dead, (only frozen though). She finally "defrosted" and was perfectly fine! Because she couldn't fly, she hung out inside on one of my house plants the whole day wile we were at work. Eventually we got a terrarium and she ended up living almost double the normal life span. (At the end her wings flaked apart) Good luck! We had to hand feed this swallowtail by unraveling the proboscis with a tooth pick and letting it rest on a sugar water paper towel! (I found a painted lady butterfly this morning who had overheated on the sidewalk, it recovered fast though). Okay I wrote a lot... here are some photos to end it off.

This one got out of its chrysalis today. I saved it as a caterpillar (it fell off our door after it was hanging in the J shape. I reattached its silk part to the stick in the second picture and it finally made its chrysalis! I'm glad it survived!)

Yeah... Butterfly talk, as you can tell, I love them! :D:wee

Yep definitely a banded sphynx. Thanks. Here's an older one. Just did a quick search and it appears to be a tomato hornworm.

Oh, I found one of those! Later I realized that it was "parasitized" (being eaten alive by wasp larvae) though!:sick

I HATE this picture now... no idea why I kept it. Your picture is very nice though! Your making me even more jealous!

That's crazy. I've never seen that before. Very cool pic. Don't be jealous, lol. I took a pic of a butterfly with my phone the other day under my quail pen to try and see what kind it was. My phone pics are pretty much always.......... no bueno.

I did check my tomato plants the other day and noticed some leaves were being eaten. I flipped them over and sa very small green caterpillars crawling on it. They looked similar to yours, will have to get a pic to find out, and get some insecticide or need oil or something....
