will a bark collar work on a chicken?

I agree another nest box might help, and if you talk to your neighbors, SHARE SOME EGGS.

It will go a long way toward them being HAPPY about you having chickens!

I think this is a really awkward post... I would never think about doing that to my chickens but I could see someone's reason behind it. There's got to be a better way.

imho people are nazi's when it comes to whatever type of animal their pet is ..... i.e. people here love chickens and would be completely outraged at any perceived injustice towards that individual animal .... people on dog boards love their dogs and would react in the same manner concerning any perceived injustice done towards dogs

--- i say "perceived" because different people have different opinions -- i once shared my method of housebreaking a dog with a dog lover board --- got called all sorts of names


for that purpose --- i highly recommend a speach that Mike Rowe gave concerning PETA and Lamb Castration --- it is very enlightening

Thanks to everyone who has offered advice. My husband was quite ashamed of the bark collar idea... Personally I would never allow that to happen!

Anyway, we have saved up some eggs for our neighbors. Hopefully they will fall for our delicious eggs.

Funny thing, we had friends over today and they asked the same questions about using bark collars! Of course, it was all in fun. Our neighbor has a loud cow in his backyard and another neighbor has a deaf dog that barks constantly. Our hens just add to the neighborhood choir!

Hey, this won't work for everyone, but some friendly conversation and a doz. eggs once in a while, seem to work very well with my close neighbors. Have an unusual set of neighbors, though. On the right is a guy who was raised on a broiler farm in AL. who loves to torture my jelouse B. C. Maran roo by feeding worms to his girls! Makes him furious! Jelousy is a terrible thing! On the left is a couple that recently moved from a hog farm and their 5 yr. old daughter loves my chicks to death, litterally! I made sure both neighbors knew I planned to get chickens befor I bought any and let it be known that if there was a problem with their dogs, it was O.K. because my keeping chickens successfully depended on their approval. The broiler guy's dog has been a problem, but he has gone to great lengths to stop it ( electric fenced his yard to keep his dog in) and approves of my pellet gun educational system, used on his dog! I know, I drew some good cards, but I work hard on keeping the peace between us, too! Tim
