I have an 11 week old silkie cockerel. Long story short, he got a minor injury a couple weeks ago so he was kept inside the house for a few days. When he gained back his appetite and personality, he gave his first baby crows. The next day we returned him outside with the rest of the flock. Since that day two weeks ago he has not crowed again. I've never kept a cockerel before, but I thought that once cockerels crowed for the first time that they would continue crowing every day. Is that not true? He is at the bottom of the pecking order, so would that suppress his crowing? Any thoughts?
