**Will it be illegal to grow my own food? WHAT????**

Oh yes, I've read it. Part of the problem is what it DOESN'T say. It is a big leap forward in the 'control' arena for the FDA. It would be great if there was actually a government agency that would make sure that every bite of food that we put in our mouths is safe. That is the fantasy that this bill is cloaked in and don't be fooled by it. I assure you; the motive is money. Again, the FDA has no incentive to keep you well; they want you to buy drugs. What would happen to the US economy if suddenly everyone was able to heal spontaneously and we never had to purchase another medication again? I don't really believe that our government wants us to find out...

Yes, I read it, too. Not that I am a legal scholar, but I saw a lot of discretion being given to the Secretary. I only point to the recent exemptions issued by HHS with regards to complying with Healthcare provisions and the EPA deciding that CO2 is a pollutant of how this discretionary power gets exercised.

I am very wary and skeptical that the bill is a good thing.

Yeah, I know they don't grow on trees. I just find it amusing that there is a conspiracy around every corner. I've heard it's for the exact opposite purpose of what a lot of people here are posting. nobody has shown where there are any rules against small production or any special requirements. All the regulation is directed against big production. People have gotten sick in large numbers from shoddy practices. Yes it's too bad the government has to step in. Most people have no control over where their food comes from and have to buy from large producers. If they actually start doing something to stop us from growing food and selling at farmers markets or to our neighbors, I will be right there with you. Haven't seen it so far.

I posted about this when the first lady was making her garden...I even wrote Obama and told him he better go check out the idiots down the road because his wife's garden was about to become illegal.

They run this up for vote every few years...check out the petitions to it. It is getting worse because on the genetically enhanced food crap.

They can't seem to stop the illegal pot growers from growing their plants and selling the results, what makes you think they can stop all of us??? LOL

I don't see them having the resources to be investigating everyone who has a backyard garden. However, if your neighborhood busy body decides to make trouble, that could get ugly. UGH

Well....................................I've got a few friends in Idaho if that is where I need to go to protect my rights. Few more over towards Murphy, NC but they tend to be a bit more radical.

I have grown a garden from the time my daddy showed me how to pat the soil down around his tomato plants. I don't save my own seeds but will start if I have to. Can you just see the underground for seeds? Going to be like the drug dealers!

I've read it, I want to read the ammendments and see whatelse has gotten attatched to it.

We do what we do for our families.
