Have you explained to them that they may die or get seriously ill? Purposely neglecting an animal or bird is just cruel. As the adults they need to take responsibility for them too if they aren’t letting you do it by yourself.

Nobody here would advise you to disobey your parents. That's contributing to the delinquency of a minor. If your parents think it's not safe to go out, they know the situation best. If your dad will go out and hang a warm bulb, that would be good. They may have an idea of how to keep your ducks warm and alive. It may not get to 30 in the garage, the ducks will huddle...

Your parents may say that the animals are your responsibility, but you are their responsibility and as the adults in the house, that means they co-sign onto all the choices that you make with their consent. So those ducklings are ultimately their responsibility as well, because they need to be supporting you when you’re left in a bind because of your age/lack of agency/lack of transportation.

they are ok! right now i’m inside now but they are happily playing in the backyard and i gave them breakfast about an hour ago. the big ducks are great too, i just gave them their breakfast and they are swimming again.

hopefully catching the big ducks, if not i don’t think the pond will freeze so they can play there anyways. heat lamp won’t be here for another week so will just put a blanket in the cage
