Will my pullets start laying soon?

When chickens at pol start to lay is hard to tell. My pullets at pol never startet laying from November till the end of January.

Do you let them free range? I wouldn’t do so if I suspect the chickens to lay elsewhere. Its more convenient if they lay in the nest-boxes. And if chickens get a bad habit its hard to change habits.

Good to know. They are free range… we will be keeping them in the run for now until they lay to hopefully instill good habits of laying in the nesting boxes lol

It helps if you lay fake eggs in a nestbox. If they are interested in the nest box, its probably okay. If you watch their behaviour if you let them free range there is no problem.
One lost egg is no problem. A habit starts to develop if they make a nest elsewhere and lay a few days somewhere outside.
