My two cents - if you have the room, get a bigger coop. Oh not for all the same reasons everyone else seems to have - we like to get in with thehens! I mean, I genuinely like to have enough room to walk in the coop, and walk around, and sit down and stretch my legs out and have a hen or 10 sitting on my lap and legs. Ours is 8 x 12, we have 15 hens, and could easily accommodate another 10 if I was so inclined. But right now, we are pretty well set. They also have a 9x12 run, and will soon become full fledged free range chickens (as soon as I can bring myself to let them go out on their own...)
