Hey everyone! Thanks so much for help last time. I have a new concern. Shiva has lost 3 wing feathers inside his pen. None when i bring him in garage. Im guessing it is related with nice weather and he wants to walk around like the chickens. He is eating out of my hand now seems healthy. Beautiful colors he changes with mood. Eyes are healthy looking. Any other reason I should be concerned with losing his wing feathers only. I will have a small avairy for him by end of April that should make him happier and jump up 8 feet to perch if he can. Just trying to be preventative. Grown attached to him.

It is simply catching them with violence that causes the wing feathers to fall.
I never touch my peacocks ... what's the point?
That's why they have a perfect plumage!

There are people who have peacocks that are all year long crumpled ... I dare not imagine what they do to them!

These are the feathers he has lost. It looks like new ones might be growing and he just loses them one at a time. I am more gentle with him than my kids. I don't think I am ripping them out when I move him... The pen I have him in is framed 2x4 with plywood on the inside. I was wondering if he is losing them by flapping up against them. Are fowl pens framing usually covered to keep it flat? So the framing is not visible.

I also googled diagram of peacock feathers and saw the way they cut these birds flight feathers on youtube. no way is he losing them from being handled.
