"I figure it did not, the mountains are much higher than the waters brought in by the tsunami, but most likely did get some damage from the shaking. We'll have to see for ourselves."

Central's head bobbed under the water and she came up, spluttering. "Darn, that log's just gone," she spat out water, clutching Redfern. "Hello?! Anyone up there?!" she yelled out. She was managing okay, but that grey hen was injured in the first place and looked like she was dying. "Good heavens. Here, Red, hold the food bag." She handed her daughter a sack of berries she'd managed to salvage.

( i must admit, you guys are pretty tough competition too! )

Tan spotted the trio of chickens, bobbing in the water, and raced toward them.

"Someone's coming," cheeped Red. "That's bleedin' fantastic," Central puffed, kicking her legs and holding Fort up in front of her. "This one's heavy. Feels like she's made o' rock."
Red waved with the berry sack: being light, she floated easier than the others. "Down here!!"

Red dragged the bag of berries onto Tan's canoe and flipped over, bringing with her a shower of salt water. Central hauled herself up then turned round to pull Fort... "Blisterin' 'ell, where's that hen gone, eh?"
The water was oddly still, not a ripple touched the surface. Fort had vanished.

"We'll find her." Clucked Tan, handing the pole to Central. "You take over, i'll look for her by air." Tan then took off, trying to spot Fort.
