Fort stepped shakily outside and wandered down to the river to take a drink. This cleared her head a little, until she saw her reflection. She squawked. Something was very wrong...

Tan had skinned one of the rats and was about to go to the river for a drink and to fill up the hide, when she heard the squawk. "Whats wrong?"

"Wait," Fort said. "I can see something weird. In the water." I'm sure these trees aren't there! They fell down during the quake... but there they are, in the reflection, behind me. And I have feathers too, thick covering of feathers. She touched her face. Definitely bald.

Tan got very worried at hearing that. "Perhaps you should lay down." She clucked as she filled the hide up and took it back, then started dancing on top of another uprooted tree.

Fort thought the same thing - she must be delirious or something - but when she looked back, everything looked normal again. The chaos behind her, and her ugly, mottled face. She shrugged, and took another drink.

"Are you sure rat hides are good for drinking water?" she asked worriedly. "You know... they're... rats."

She ducked down to drink again and *gasp* saw her parents' reflection in the water. She had known her parents for maybe a week before she lost them, but their image was still clear in her mind...

She decided to go back to the shelter, the river was starting to creep her out.

(I think I've been posting way too much on here. Don't want to become an RP addict
