Hmm... Was she like this when she arrived?

i'm not exactly sure, i only noticed it now. but i'm not beyond it being possible, as there was a dead duckling in that box too.

*mutters something about crazy BYC glitches*

Ya, could have happened on the way. If the box was shaken or bumped,

Sadly, sometimes our live chicks and eggs don't make it, some of the boxes have been crushed, kicked and smashed in. We go local now, no more mail, except eggs now and then. There's a major thing going on with chickens/eggs/chicks in our area, used to be people afraid of the bird flue and stuff but now I guess it's just for the sake of it. Not all of the time though, and there are good people who work there too, we're friends with one of the mail ladies, she loved the turkeys!

Well, picture might help, at least to see where it's coming from. Hip, ankle, knee? Or is the whole thing kinda flimsy?

LOL, are they're profiles added yet?

I'm still writing them up.

Okay Crazy, I finished Kin-Long and FengHuang's profiles if you want to see them. They're on the front page now.

So its not splayed or anything? I have a chick who's leg is messed up, he gets around though. Maybe its just not as strong as the other leg yet?

Should i take a pic?? It doesn't seem splayed though.
possibly, but all the others are running around.

sure

Yes, take a picture.

Have you found even the slightest lump, growth, tender spot, or swelling on the leg? Anything strange about the hock?

possibly, i just i'll just have to call the hatchery for a replacement on the dead duckie and see if i have enough space for another 'special needs' bird.
yeah, normally we would go to the TSC but they very rarely do ducks.
it's not exactly comeing from anywere nor is it flimsy, she just doesn't seem to be able to move it in coordination with her other foot, therefore she trips all the time, then since she can't get out she just scratches the ground beside her, trying to get a grip.

i have enough with a spraddle legged chicken, i can't be dealing with a uncoordinated duck too.

If it's not the leg it's neurological, as Birdybutt said, check again for anything, carefully. Give her some time, possibly hobbles? Or whatever they are called that keep the legs together, I have only dealt with curly foot in ducks. But I have dealt with a similar issue with a chicken though.

curly foot? -.^

The feet are curled, there is a more technical term but curly foot is basically what it is.
When they hatch and their feet are still in curled up, we tried little shoes, lemme get a pic.
