I agree! That's a great block! I feel bad about mine now, I was trying to find something that embraced Oklahoma....sigh. I guess I have to buy a new embroidery file to add the blocks for pizzazz now..... ;)

By the way, I picked up my fabric from Hobby Lobby last week. After A LOT of deliberation, I finally settled on the first choice that spoke to me and didn't have Christmas in it. So it's blues with snow background and winter deer. I chose a brown pinecone print for the accents. It sounded like a lot of us were leaning towards the blues/whites/greys so I went with that. I can't wait, I've already got plans for the putting on the bed for a "winter quilt." Just think, a "Seasonal Bed set" :) I'm giddy just thinking about it......hahahaha.

Dear Marty,
I am having great trouble contacting you via pm's to continue our house talk. The site keeps telling me to put in message when I try to send even though I have. I particularly wanted to tell you about the talk by Effie Galletly I'm going to tonight at one of my quilting groups, Pearoom Quilters, and tomorrow I am going to a workshop with her. Look her up at http://effiegalletly.co.uk She does mostly landscapes.

Ooh!! I LOVE this kind of quilting! I find I myself like to make more "canvass" type blocks, and less traditional ones. I might have to make a special big block exchange after Christmas just for folks who are interested in this type of work. On my own, I'm making a quilt of my house/grounds to hang above my fireplace, instead of a painting. I really love quilting so much, since it truly allows all types of artistsry on fabric. I love the textural feel of quilt art.

QUILTERS TOTALLY ROCK!!!!!

On another note, we have one single person for this swap who is new to byc who hasn't been on since signing up for the swap. We may have one opening soon, however, there is a waiting list for the spot. There are 2 others who would love to join us. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT US ALLOWING 2 MORE TO JOIN US?? This may bring our total up to 14 (or 13 if I don't get that one PM).

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE TELL ME IF YOU OBJECT! Otherwise, I'm tempted to let them join, since we filled up in 2 days for this one. What is the limit everyone feels ok with? 15? 12 only? PLease let me know your thoughts, my kind and sweet fellow quilters.
