Winter Quilt Block Swap 2013

Balefire, I doubt they all need to be exactly the same. Use what you have started and if need more, then so be it or improvise with other fabric that fits. Congrats on the job by the way, and how is hubby doing?
x2. Since we are all only getting one block from each person it does not matter if they are all the same in my opinion. I also hope your husband is doing better.

I hope your hubby gets well soon!

Also, every block can be it's own work of art, unique in all, many, most, or no respects. Make them with what you have, and change patterns or cloth with every block if anyone needs to. Variety is the spice of life!

So because we are making 15 blocks..................I need new fabric and need to start all over

and that I'm working in retail is not really helping................hope I get my blocks done in time *sigh*
You don't need to make all your blocks the same pattern with the same fabric. We each get one. Just make however more you need to complete 15 using whatever you have or need to buy for those number of blocks. I may have to make one or two of my blocks using different fabric due to a cutting error. I used a pattern from my quilting club newsletter and the gals math was off so the pattern came out smaller than required. I should have remebered to check the math on the size of the pieces to make sure they would add up to 12 1/2 inches. Anyway, I am now short on fabric and will maybe have to change the fabric colors around a bit or use different fabric. This is the fun part of the swaps....getting other peoples blocks.

Thanks for all your replies............
Will see how I get it done.
@ the moment I'm so tied up in my job, that there is nothing left from me...............hope the holydays are over soon

Hi everyone.

Had two bad dogs work very hard to dig under our perimeter fence yesterday. From their they breached 3 other pens, killing exhibition buff and grey dewlap toulosue, and sebastopol geese. Also Muscovey, Khaki Campbell, and Ancona pairs. Our Thanksgiving turkey, and a bourben red girl. And, our lone adult rooster (bless his brave soul). Lost 50 birds, with replacement costs over $4000. Ironically, our fences were so good, that they couldn't find their way back out. They are in police custody now.

(huge sigh)

I will never understand why people can't be responsible pet owners. I hope you find their owners and are able to follow through with a small claims law suit and at least get a judgement for the value of your livestock. I know this will no bring back your livestock but at least it would force the owners to be legally responsible for their actions or better yet their lack of action.

Oh! Marty! I'm so sorry. How tragic to lose so much. I worry about my neighbors beagles since he has some loose all the time but so far they haven't got onto the property. My GS puppy (big as a moose at almost 6 mo.) tries to get to my chickens but I'm working on her to leave them alone. I would be devastated if she hurt them. My friends also. I have a friend that loves chickens and she can't have them where she lives so they are here on my property. I hope the owners are responsible enough to pay for damages, even though that doesn't fully replace your loss.
