Goth sorry the puppy hasn't found her way home yet. We're hoping to find a dog that's already house trained and critter friendly as well, sound like that could work out well.

Nice that they allow a trial period and are taking into consideration that your puppy could come home. Just saw the pic of the new dog, he's very pretty and great that he is so gentle w/your little one!

Hurley those aussie parents are beautiful! Can't wait to see the puppies! My shoulders hurt too, been trimming along the tree line and pulling down some big dead branches and dragging them to the backyard.... so... now we have a club too!

Carol, what a beautiful photo! Even DD15 said that is sooo cool, high praise from a teen!

soon after I posted "email me if you want me to send you the bash pic..." my DD got sick, throwing up for 2 days and just yukky for another 2 days. usless dr said nothing, he sent me to walmart to get some antinausua (sp?) meds. I mean come on?! I stood in line for what seemed like FOR EVER with a pukey DD and a bucket, how embarrassing! anyways now I'm cleaning this house

today I was thinking about the bash and realized that I never did send out those pics

I have 1 more BASH T-shirt left, a white, XL. PM me if you would like it. I can't make anymore that advertise BYC on it, so if anyone wants one after this one, it will not have BYC on it. thats ok at least I don't have to make a whole new screen, all I have to do is tape off the BYC part. for that matter if you didn't want it to say WI annual bigzio bash, I could tape that off too.

sounds bad on my part I know I know but what can I say. with 5 kids, you never get to watch a movie with the family cause your ALWAYS cleaning. Not to mention the fact that I haven't caught up with cleaning since DD was sick.

I THOUGHT it was still alive, but on it's "death bed". I stuffed it back under mama. I found it this morning out of the egg dead??? so NOW she has 2 eggs that I THOUGHT were due last friday?? 'scovies go 35 days? right?? anyways 1 has a pip and I can hear movement in the other egg so

we get atleast 2 duckling.

Dornes-I Congrats on the new PB's! I had a boat load of them at one time. Mine were sassy and opinionated. Great layers though. Your dad story cracked me up! He is pretty smart to have you doing all the work of raising up chicks. I think you need to present him with a bill for new shoes to cover the time you spend on preparing "his" chickens!!!

That pic you posted of that coop was amazing. I don't think a chandelier is in my hens future though!

TO-could your Barrdie be a creole? She sure sounds pretty with the different colors in her feathers!

DrH-We should have figured you went fishin'! Next time please hang a Gone Fishin' sign up on your Cheesehead cubical so we dont worry!!

dk-Your very lucky to be in Janesville! See when you finally get your hens and something yuckie happens, you just need to call me and my dh! I can give shots, treat yuckie wounds and such and dh well, he is the coolest! He can sew up wounds, can fix egg bound hens if they are fixable, and save chicken lives! He once put in over 250 stitches to save a turkey who was attacked by a neighbors dog. The turkey dh sewed up lived a long and happy turkey life.

My oh my it is a nice day today! I finally finished weeding the garden for the most part. The Worthless Chickens gave me another pullet egg today!

So far I think it is a Barnevelder.
I took Aiden to the vet this morning to have his teeth cleaned. I bet he is totally mental by now! He is a total Mama's Boy spaz to begin with and Mama left him! *gasp* I wonder if he'll even speak to me when he gets home!! HAHAHA!

Well, I'm sure I have something to do...yeah laundry.....ugh.....

Well, just come in for a quick break and a glass of water. I got my old garden shed all cleaned out. Lots of it went to the junk pile - the rest went to join all of it's tool brothers and sisters in the hubby's tool box. Some storage bins that had kids clothes and such in it went to the upper storage area of the garage. Amazing where you can find places to store things when you want to turn something into a chicken coop!

So, it's all cleaned out and I will start to frame things out and paint and such hopefully this weekend. Kilz primer is going to be my best-est friend!

Here is what my shed looks like. It is 10x16 and I can already envision the coop and my storage area and such as I stand there and look in

Off to get a dog kennel tonight that I picked up off craigs list as well as hopefully drop off my rooster to the 4h kid down the road.

Skeeto Fest Afternoon All.... man they are lousy here. Great advice about the prolapse vent. Hope your hen is healing fine.

I ordered 2 more waterers from premeir one....mine arrived like yours TO...one assembled and one not. The assembly only took a couple minutes with suzies help! Hope you are happy with yours?

Jim had to go to the dentist today....maybe I should stop by with my flask, for some real pain killer

Congrats on the fish for the freezer Doc. Been trying to go too. Soon I hope.

Good evening! My wonderful son informed me tonight that he has to go to Milwaukee cause he starts his new job---TOMORROW! AACKKK! Kind of like when he was in grade school and would say he needed 24 cupcakes---TOMORROW! SO anyhow, as soon as he gets back from Volleyball I have to drive there to drop him off...unless I can bribe one of my daughters to do it!!! (

Got much of the beggie garden weeded after work today and also got the kennel pannels up that I got a month ago (at least). I need to make some space for all the ducklings I have! Raim, sure wish you were closer...I just had another nest hatch today...not sure how many there are as yet...she is waiting for the last ones. Should be off tomorrow though. Carol is coming out this weekend to get a couple to give to her mama duck that cant seem to hatch anything...I need to put an add out cause I cant have this many ducks!!!
Got another pigeon hatched...saw it yesterday...just one this time. And another batch of chicks (6) came out with a black and brown hen from the upper barn. THe guineas are doing great and the quail are laying...I think I only have 2 girls though

I am thinking about taking out the parrot eggs...I am sure that they would have hatched by now if they were going to. She is starting to look pretty ragged so I think it is time. Maybe next year for parrots?

Yes BigZ--I love the new waterers! They are so easy to clean I cat believe it! I took that SOP to the library for them to glue and they said it would be done next week. I checked out B Rock hens in there first and it seems like I have a Dominique and not a BR! She has a rose comb and BR's dont. I read the description and she fits it perfectly!

I have always wanted one of them...so I guess I need to find a roo hey? (thanks a bunch Elaine....)

Sigh... my EE is not much better. But I went and bought some supplies and keep trying. She seems alert and not upset, just does not want to sit down much. Must hurt- poor baby. keep soaking and applying stuff and hoping for a miracle!

Warm weather is creaping in again. Weeds are too! cant seem to beat them this year.

Dornes sounds like a cleaning job you don't mind when it means another coop, good for you. MLH sure wish my garden was weeded, got way behind on that and it's kick;n my a$$. Maybe will get out tomorrow before the heat is back in full swing. Shanti very cool, what is your connection to the EAA? Do you fly ? It's so cool to see the old ones in the air.

My girls are 14 weeks old now, should I switch to layer feed now ????? They are EEs, BOs and Black and Brown production hens. Sounds like starting them to early isn't good?
TO hope you got one of the kids to drive to Milwaukee tonight for you.

Love the kids but they just don't think we have a life other than being at there beck and call some days.

cleaned the coop after work and finished just in time as the skeeters were starting to feast.

If you go over the RR tracks you went too far.....

Raimnel, I have three baby calls at the moment. Nobody has made any claims on them yet!

So we went to Wally world for some stuff, I had let a single pullet out of her pen on the front porch to get some excersize....
She is alone right now because she belongs to a Madcity chicken person, and I raised her from a day old for her (Dornes has her sisters)..
I need to tame her down a bit before getting her to her mom...
I went to put her back in her pen and saw this

So DH says either she thinks she is the worlds biggest parakeet OR they are the smallest chickens she has ever seen!!!
