Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Hey, fellow Wisconsinites! Quite the weather, huh? I have a slight case of heat exhaustion today from a golf tournament Monday, so...yep. Fun stuff. Oh, and you know what my best friend said when I called her up and told her?
This, and I quote: "AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!sucks..." I'm serious! Ok...maybe not so many "ha"s, but...still
Some friend!

Hope y'all are having a good day, and hopefully you (unlike my grandparents, sometimes, unless I'm watching them VERY closely...) have you're air conditioning on and you're enjoying the nice AC! Lol see you guys later...gotta go check on my newest addition to the flock, a baby guinea, possibly hatched today...? So cute!
See ya~

Just checking in again.

I Sitting in Mc Donalds arking lot having an ice tea !! Had BYC withdrawals. I'm about 41 miles from Marshfield. So will be hitting the road in a few when I'm done tying. I've been ticking enough drivers off lately, don't want to make matters worse by being online and driving

One more stop in Marshfield to get their fencing then off to Wausau. Might try to see if there is a good will in Marshfied. I love the Goodwills up here. I picked up a pair of jeans for $3.00 (half price) and a stanless steel dog bowl for 49 cents for Butt Dog.

Butt dog went to Rhinelander with Dada to deliver eggs today. Poor Butts, bet she wonders where mama is !!

Enjoying my road trip. Love the cold air blasting on me. I could do this for the rest of the week, til the heat breaks !!!
lau.gif
Althoug I don't think my debit card would last all week !!!
Don't know what I would do if I broke down, and I don't want to find out

Ok break is over !!

later
Ps Thius sun is makes it very hard to see the screen so forgive me for speloing errors !!

I was going to fish for some crappies on Little St. Germain lake this A.M. OMG!! There were so many jet skis, water skiers, and power boats, I didn't even bother launching my boat. Took it home grabbed the canoe and went to a little lake way back in the woods. No one there, but two loons and they left me alone. Hotter than blazes, though!!! Caught some real nice bluegills, came home and took care of the chicks again. They are not happy in this heat. I give them ice water and made up a cool salad for them. Luckily, they have a lot of shade and what little breeze that comes, usually comes in their direction. I hate locking them in their coop at night in this heat. But...we have everything from weasels to wolves and in-between around here.

Hot Afternoon All!

FT-we don't mind speloing errors! I know I've made my fair share of them! I'm glad your travels are going well so far! Good job on the Goodwill finds! I love GW when they have their sales!

welcome-byc.gif
zsazsachick! I think I've seen you here before-some where on this big ol' forum!! Nice to see you on the cheeshead thread!

Amyable-uber cute kittens! They almost make me want one! Almost! If the black one had shown up here then I might have had to "foster" him! LOL!! But, I'm done with cats!
hide.gif

I hope your Kitten Crew keep the rodent population down for you!!

CC-yep my parents were like yours! I would not have behaved like those children Deb is dealing with but if I did my parents would have killed me. My butt would have been unable to sit for weeks! My parents were the greatest! I got my mouth washed out with soap, I got spanked and I got grounded! *gasp*! My parents never heard of a time out! Time out was to pick weeds and rocks in the garden as punishment for not doing homework right when we got home from school! Time out was also the time we spent outside playing! Man I miss my parents they were the best! They loved both of us kids so much-enough to teach us right from wrong and how to be grateful for the kindnesses of others and for what we had.

dk-good for you girl! You tell those kids how the cow ate the cabbage!!

Well, I have good news! The Waste of Space Chickens have now been given a Governor's Pardon.
clap.gif

Breac here from BYC has called in the Pardon and they are now in a nice new bantam habitat where they can do what ever worthless chicken things they want! She was kind enough to fall in love with them and take them to her place! Thank you Breac!!! You are a very kind lady!!!

Well I just wanted to catch up! I've got to go feed the dogs!

Yep there sure is a Goodwill in Marshfield, it is out by Menards/Walmart/Aldi/V&H. If you are heading to Wausau on 97 from Marshfield, you will go right past it. Last set of stop lights (Weilers will be on the right side) and it is the next road to the left. I grew up in Marshfield (and would never move back after being away). The goodwill there is newer and larger than the old one they used to have on the south side.

It sure was not fun being broke down yesterday afternoon with a flat tire that is for sure. Especially after having hubby spend some hours in the ER earlier this week. He replaced 4 of the lugs and said the heck with it and off we went to limp the trailer home. Good thing we only had about 20 more miles to go. He put the other 4 lugs on after chores last night.

Sure is a nice breeze picking up out there this afternoon. The cows are staying in the big shed underneath a soaker hose hubby put up in the rafters for them to cool off with. Only saw them come out a couple times for drinks and to munch on a tad bit of hay, other than that... they are going to be full of poo tonight when they come in for milking.

Carol - Equity did end up taking that blind bull calf. And we think it was something strange. Possible pink eye??? Not sure... but it was clearing up a bit. No need for the seeing eye dog either... whose dog was that?? Celtics?

I have been out by the chickens quite a bit today, enjoying the shade and the breeze. Carol, those two that I got from you seemed to have sprouted more feathers on their feet the last couple days than they have had all this time. Must be all this heat that has caused the feathers to sprout, just like my garden... and the weeds!

Super super cute little buggers Mabel and Mrs. Clucky are! Whose getting the last one? Terri?

Man, sure wish I would have made the bash, after having these wonderful online chats with you all on the Cheesehead forum!

Got some graph paper the other day, in between kids getting their fair projects ready, I have drew up the inside of the new coop plans. Sure can't wait to get that under construction!

Okay, enough rambling.... DrH -hope you found a way to keep yourself indoors today! Perfect wood cutting weather!!!

Welcome to all the newbies!

And...... to anyone falling in love with those kitties. I have two cats being fostered here that really need homes. They need to go SOON! I have a black female, spayed, short hair. And a orange and white male, neutered, long hair. Both are litter trained, good with other cats, dogs and kids. Super friendly. The orange and white likes to be inside/outside (but he has been inside all week... heat must have drove him in.) and the black one is inside only. If you know of anyone that would want these cats... FREE to a good home! And, they do not have to go together.

What? What is Carol bringing me now? What kind are those birds Dornes? LOL! I decided to pop back on as I cool off from cleaning my bathroom. WHew! Vacuuming is sweaty work even IF I have an AC unit! THe coolish air doesnt really reach all the way to the bathroom and the back room is horrendous! My tortoise even is buried in the dirt looking for a cool area today!

DrH if you are going visiting you MUST let me know when...you can pick me up at the McDonald's in Lake Mills and then we can go and visit Deb together! I bet Carol will meet you too (at the McD's) THis sounds like a lot of fun! OK you people that said you wanted to help with a "Southern" get together...who are you? We should pick a date, place and time before the summer gets away from us! I am thinking our horse get together is going to be more into the fall so we can avoid the deerflies and other nasties...anyone have ideas where to meet? I know that Elaine was thinking about several parks in the Madison area...I thought of McCarthy park right on I94 near Sun Prairie...or Tolken Creek, just North of Madison on 151. Any other ideas? (gosh I really feel like the social director here!)

Dogs are barking and I think I am cool enough to resume my vacuuming....sigh...a woman's work---NEVERMIND!!!!!! Terri O

For once, it was not me! I wanted the cow; Cind potentially was getting a seeing-eye dog for Duke, I believe.

I was wondering about the S. bash, if anyone from the north would be interested & if we should look for a campground or a park-like setting. I know other people were interested in the planning too. I don't have any major interest in the planning, I just wanted to know if anyone was interested. But if you need help, I will be there.
