Yes Georgie was a great mare so sweet and kind. Just a little angel her on Earth.

FT-What! I never said I wanted a pig!! I will say that critter is dang cute though. I do like pigs, I might be persuaded to get one- maybe. I worked with all sorts pigs when I was at the vet clinic. So yeah nope no pigs for me....

CC-I have never seen a teacup pig either. I don't think I'd ever get one just knowing how in breed those must be to get that small. True miniature pot belly pigs (Vietnamese) are about 60 to 75/80#'s. Ones that small are....hmmmm....not right. It is cute though but not $800 in cuteness. I'd rather have a miniature horse! (FT-ignore that comment!)

dk-I could do goats....I love goats....not the mini ones though. A nice boer for me.
I have to agree with your observation on the general populations "me-ness". I think it has gotten worse and will get even more so. I was a Red Lobster the other day, and this younger family with grand parents? came in with a kid who was 2 maybe 3? (Seriously!!! You take your 2 year old to a restaurant like that?) Anyway, She was still in pull ups. I know this because as the parents were talking and completely ignoring her, she was amusing herself by dancing and playing/tumbling in the isle next to your table. While she was quiet-thank goodness. I could not help but think "Wow. I hope one of her parents washes her hands before she eats since she was playing on the floor." I only thought this because her parents acted like she was not even there. So sad that parents take kids to restaurants that are not geared for them. I normally don't feel sorry for kids like that but for some reason I did for her. She seamed like a good kid that was very bored with nothing to play with or do, while her parents just ignored her. Or maybe they thought if they told her to quit playing and sit down they would have had a bored and mad kid on their hands and then the fire works would have started when they ignored her or tried to get her to behave. IDK.

Well, I've to to go take care of the critters. The hens are not happy that I'm late!
Chat soon!

Good morning!--Oh those piggies sure are cute! My friend had a litter of them...they were the most adorable things. They found a hole in the pen and all would go out in that yard-I think there was about 10 of them--then when mama called they all would run around like crazy things and fight to get back in with her! I like pigs too...but I would rather get a big one and then put it in the freezer! (right Carol?) She told me last night that the pork she got was the best she had ever eaten...yup' nothing like home grown.
CC you said something and I almost spit my coffee at the screen...cant remember what it was...oh yeah, the rooster comment to FT!

Makes me laugh all over again!
OK--I am using waaaay too many exclamation points...must be time to stop drinking coffee, hang laundry, let out the birdies and head to work! (there I go again) Have a fantastic day everyone--enjoy this invigorating weather! Terri O

good AM< we played cards until late last night and then sat around and shot the bull until 3AM.. I drove home and went straight to bed.. I usually check the CH Hds before bed.. what a lot of reading I jlust did..

There is a new turkey in the hatcher.. about 4 dozen guinea and turkey eggs in there.. I don't expect a great hatch.. I am completely out of pens to put the guineas..

I set a live trap for the ferel cat.. I used a can of outdated oysters for bait.. I haven't been outside yet.. Hope I didn't catch a skunk !!

Annie was up early.. picked a sink full of green beans and cut a ton of broccoli..

when we were teenagers, we put a shetland pony in the back seat of the car and drove to the root-beer stand in town..
Talk about a chick magnet.. we never picked up any girls that way though.. the pony took up all the room.. LOL Maybe we should have taken a puppy or a kitten.. Kick myself, now..

I did pick up a girl once while riding a horse.. I told her to hang on tight,, she did,,, she is still married to me..

I just might mow a little grass today.. I put the grass catcher onto the push mower.. the penned up chickens and birds love a treat of freshly cut grass and weeds..

........jiminwisc..........

Jim-love the pony chick magnet story! That was very creative and inventive! LOL!! Im still chuckling!

Amy-That might have been a cream or a cremello or perlino. Or maybe a champagne. There is also a gurllo/grulla but those are rather smokey and metalic in sheen and "primitive" markings. Duns come in a boat load of colors and variations of those colors. What ever she was she sounded beautiful! I hope you get your "someday" horse!!

SOUTHERN BASH PEOPLE!!!!!!!

I am getting more interest for the bash and we need to select a location? Have we done that and I missed it? So here is what I'm thinking:

I called the Dane county park office to inquire about the parks that have handicapped accessible restrooms/facilities. The park director was very nice and told me that nearly all the parks have been upgraded to accommodate wheelchairs. Some are more modern then others though. He said that if we select one, to let him know and he will be sure to reference that parks facilities before we book a shelter.

If you want to email me a list of the parks that you prefer, I will compile those parks and see which ones have duplicated votes and then call to verify the facilities. I will post a list of the narrowed down parks that "passed" and that best fit the needs of our group. How does that sound? Ok?

Knew where you were headed with the horse ride thing Jim, isn't it nice to have someone who knows you well! Then again... Told L this AM that the lawn needs it AGAIN! But first..... 11 pints are sealed think there's enough for us and a few select others for this year. I love to hear them seal, always makes me smile! Told L this morning to ask some friends of ours if they wanted any canning cukes, onions, or grn beans. Their mom is a resident. If they don't then on down the list of good deserving people. Have enough put up for fam. Yup MLH he is but not for long, garbage day is Fri. good place for a carcass. Gonna miss that thump thump thump of a charging roo behind me. Got the dishes done now headed out to get some other things crossed off the list, think today I'm gonna make time to sit in a lawn chair and just enjoy the scenery for a change. There I go thinkin again. I know how this works. I sit and see something then it's off to the races. Maybe if I join TO with several beverages of choice I won't be so inclined to.....

Do any of the southern people know the person who is posting the silkies in Stoughton? or is it anyone on here? They have blues and partridge... Thought I would ask!

Not him either. It was a color I don't remember ever seeing, like a paint/pinto with beige instead of the white; maybe it was buckskin, but I was sure it said dun. And it was either Appleton or Green Bay CL. Wish I could find it again!

Not this one either I'll bet It says dun and it i a paint on GB CL No cream

Negative. I just went thru all the postings in farm and garden for the last month on App and Gb, nothing. Must have sold. I was thinking of saving the picture, oh well. Saw LOTS of purty horses though. have wanted one since I was a little kid. It will probably be one of those things that I have room for/can afford when I'm 80 and it's too late.
