Had a couple of minutes and thought I'd try to keep up around here! OMG FT I am laughing myself silly over your rainy day escapades! What a riot!

Went to F&F and bought some warm clothes and about 100 bulbs to plant - hope it warms up just a tad or I'll freeze to death planting them! Then came home and started a pot of chili so I can have a real meal before going to work tonight. When DH leaves I usually just eat whatever is here, as I hate any type of shopping, so there are days the pickins are thin indeed. Then I cleaned out the fridge. Need to walk the dog, he's out in the backyard playing at the moment. He almost escaped when I came in the door this afternoon, don't know how with hands full of bags but I pinned him with my foot and forced him back in with the other foot... must have looked like some sort of freak going through contortions on the front porch trying not to drop everything, LOL.

Had to call work this morning because I agreed to take a shift but couldn't remember if it was for Friday or Saturday and ... accepted another shift for Sunday, which would have been my only day off work this week *sigh*. Oh well, maybe next week I'll take a day off! Well better get some things done before I head off to job number two... have a good afternoon all.

I am home, got here by 11:30AM with the peafowl.. They are semi tame.. I put them into the lean to pen.. those chickens will have to find someplae else to sleep tonight.. the first one I let go was the big pied female.. she immediately flew at the door and knocked it open.. she is out and about, but hanging around..

The male is an India Blue.. the loose female is a pied, and the remaining female is a cross , but the lady wasn't sure of what ..

I am on gramma watch tonight.. gonna be a long boring night..

by midnight , I should have every craigs list read for every site in wisc.. LOL

FT, I think somebody saw you on the ATV.. they even wrote a song about you.. Hang on Soapy, Hang on..

Well, the water fairy didnt show up today while I was at work...I dont know how many times I need to turn the darn faucet on before I realize that THERE IS NO WATER!!!! Tried to fill the dog bowl, then flush the toilet, then wash my hands, then get water for the little quail, then to fill the ice cube tray...so yeah...not cooking tonight...I wanted to make soup...well, that's my story and I'm sticken' to it!
My client said, "just call a plumber cause your DH obviously doesnt know how to fix the thing RIGHT!" Yeah, I guess she remembered that he has "fixed it" more than once...

I went to visit an old client of mine tonight at the county home. He is 103! I had to prod his memory a bit 'cause I havent seen him for a year or so...he looks the same but was in a wheelchair...not sure if that is permanent or not--he was waiting at a table for dinner. He is really a cool old guy.

Glad you got your new birds Jim. At least the female didnt head right for the highest pine to determine directions to fly back home! I hope you can get her in with her buddies for the night. Any good stories about your trip?

FT--the picture of you scooting around on the ATV all soapy sure got me laughing! I am sorry but I guess I would go with dirty hair before I would try that stunt! Sure makes for a great story though doesnt it?

Well, DH is here and of course he is not pleased that the plumbing needs attention....of course ne brought work home too...man, I am going to have to call a plumber--I just know it!

i can't think of any worth telling at this time but we do weird stuff here also. DH more than me of course

TO I sure hope you get your water fixed soon that is such a pain in the $ss. Tkv nice save with the door and hands full of stuff. Hope you can stay warm, it should warm up a bit yet before the real cold gets here. I hear you on the hate shopping of any kind, it just plain sucks. I covered the pumpkins and maters tonight just to be on the safe side.
BigZ and Suzie happy to hear all is progressing at your place. Suzie sounds like you are keeping busy and feeding your man well. Take care and thanks for the update

Hi, we have a working cukoo clock.. somehow, I hear it very differently now..

How come when a person is feeling like kicking back and not working too hard, things just do not go smoothly. I was just putting gramma's food on the table when I saw some guineas go up into the pine tree.. I water blasted a few down, but there are about 4 left up there soaking wet.. they will be like guinea soup for the owl..

then I come back in to a gramma who decides to be stubborn about taking her pills.. I coaxed and coaxed, and then finally said. Mom, as long as you are not going to eat your pills, I am just going to put them all back in the bottles.. Then she wouldn't give them to me.. she ate them instead.. I guess she showed me, eh? .. LOL

a hundred TV channels to watch and nothing worth watching..

No TO< I did not see the peahen tonight..she prolly found a high perch somewhere.. I am hoping that in the morning she will hook up with my male and hang with him.. I don't care if she is loose, as long as she stays here.. she did hang sort of at the edge of the yard all afternoon,, a bit shy about mixing it up with the large conglomerate of birds.. If she makes it down to the woods, and I can't catch her,. I will take the gun down after her.. I always wondered what peafowl tastes like..

my trip to Berlin and back was uneventful, except for the usual @$$ hoIes who drive like their head is up their @ss..

Well, we got that "patchy" frost the weatherman barely mentioned last night. Tonight is the "widespread" frost advisory. Gee, thanks for that. My garden got hit pretty good, but luckily the volunteer corn (that started growing after I mulched with coop cleanings) protected quite a few of the pepper plants. I picked all the good sized ones, and covered up the survivors for the night. The 2 tomato plants in the garden were history (not a loss since they weren't doing much), but the ones on the back patio in the pots looked great. Go figure. So DH put them in the greenhouse for the night. Now I'm kinda happy I didn't have a bigger garden this year. Must be close to a record for shortest growing seasons down here. But then we're supposed to be back in the 70's in a few days.

Looks like I have a grumpy kitty here who wants to eat and then curl up by my tummy for the rest of the evening. You can always tell when it starts getting cold in the house; suddenly it becomes very challenging to roll over when sleeping at night. Wishing you all warm beds this evening, and sweet dreams!
