Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Tomski sorry to hear about the roo! That's pretty weird!

Got a heck of a lot of things done already today. A lot of odds and ends. Seems to be a lot of those
idunno.gif
but a whole lot less now! Left a message with Donny to use "our" tractor with the dirt bucket to fill in the driveway some more. Sure would save time and energy
old.gif
He called back to say he was out makin more wood but would let me use it tomorrow and would put the bucket on for me, told him I wanted to do it to get used to it. TO you gotta post a pic of seatbelt fix! Thats just soooo wrong! Need some b'fast/lunch and maybe a nap. Bigz/Susie do you guys have enough wood for the winter? Talked to my puter guy too he'll be in town Sun. I hate this laptop it's too new fangled!

My husband shot the elk in Colorado. He works out there. He says if anyone wants to go 1/2s on a rifle tag he'll split the meat with them. Haven't had any takers on that offer.

No takers? That's a shame, elk is really good, better than venison. We've had a bunch of it the last year, FIL shot one in WY. Mmm mmm.

Elk is good but I'd never get DH to eat it

he's so Unadventurous sometimes!

FT I'll be at the bash and am soooo looking forward to it!

Tomski sorry about the Roo.

I spent the day "freezing", something tells me this is going to be one tough winter for me, since it's barely fall now! Wore my sweatshirt all day (and I've been inside with the heat on! how sad is that?) Finally got up on the housework, hard to keep up sometimes when I'm dashing between jobs constantly. AS it stands now I won't have a day totally off a job until next Saturday and that could change tomorrow when my second jobs schedule comes out. And on top of work I have one work related training session and 2 mandatory work meetings next week, I'll be lucky to see the house!

Well, dinner should be about done. Have a nice evening all!

good eve,
I made some catfish for supper.. some my brother caught at DuBay.. they were rather good.. I recleaned them like I did the last batch.. If he insists on giving me fish I will have to give him some lessons on how I want them cleaned..

I made ho-made french fries.. Annie told Ken that he would have to salt them because Jim didn't put any salt on them.. Ken said they were plenty good without salt.. and he salts salt !!

did not see the peahen today.. she is prolly lost in the corn field.. or the fox might have grabbed her..

One of the "Piney" guineas was eaten by the owl last night..
tonight they all went in on their own.. go figure..
One of the half grown ducks is gone, and so is one of the 4 baby guineas with the chicken mama.. Annie says she thinks it is that cat.. I think she is correct, this time....

I got another wheel chair from my rummage sale-ing daughter..

I ate elk a couple of times.. I think it tastes like horse meat..

A local man was caught with a sandhill crane.. He told the warden that he eats them.. being curious, the warden asked what it tasted like.. the man said, "a lot like bald eagle"..

Deb, don't feel bad... we all felt cold this week.. If this weather keeps on like this, I might have to switch to long pants and shoes..

Ken sorted the red tomatoes out tonight.. there are about a whole bushel of them.. enough to can a batch or two..

tomorrow we are doing corn.. I like to make creamed style..

I sold 6 turkeys to a guy.. he stopped by today to pick up some eggs.. said one of the turkeys died the next day.. Mine just go on living,, how is it that I always seem to sell the dying ones.??

I am about to give up on selling anything anymore..

Jim... I couldn't let you be the last post

Not at 10:30!

BBP... How much would 1/2 the tag cost and about how much meat would there be? I want some game so bad! LOL If I could walk well I'd be out hunting myself!

Lots to do today (Sat.) so I better get some sleep! Got 12 trays of raisins going for the chickens. I'm sure they will be a great treat for them over the winter. I'm getting a cheap juicer today and am going to can some grape juice. The dried tomatoes I did came out great! I'm going to make some more. 2 dehydrators going and a canner on the stove..... don't you just love harvest time? !

Good Morning Everybody! Geez Jim your getting hit from all directions, sorry for all the losses! I hate having to wear long pants! Takes so long to get the knees used to them again.

Donny brought the tractor down last night with the dirt bucket on it so I get to play today.
wee.gif
He has changed his mind about and now thinks it's the cats meow. I told him to take the forks off of it and put some blocks in the barrel, he says it steers a lot easier
roll.png
So it looks like I won't have to go into debt after all.
ya.gif
I played with it last night for a little while and don't like sitting so low, limited visibilty. Wish it had a live PTO too. But you can wish in one hand..... Still a really nice tractor. Wonder if B&S had FFF? Thinkin next week will have to have a FF. If I didn't have some dead cow coming soon I'd be interested in half an elk. Gonna get the driveway finished today and maybe drop another tree. Sounds like sunday I'll be back to work on the bedroom. Trees should start turning soon. dk think you need a union suit.

Enjoy your day good people!

good morning, on my first cuppa, I snatched it before the pot was finished brewing,, PLENTY strong.. might need only one cuppa today..

DrH , I am no good with abreviations.. B&S briggs and stratton.
FFF and FF ???????

Cind, always has to have the last word.. why would you go hunting yourself? just look in the mirror, there you are..

corn freezing today.. this is one job I don't mind doing.. wierd, eh?
the "piggers" will be in pigger heaven.. they just love the corn silk.. piggers=guinea pigs.. 3 of them.. I hate them, but they are Ken's so I don't have to even look at them.. we got them almost 6 years ago.. the people we got them from had them for a couple of years.. I thought they always died like in 6 months or so; like goldfish..

Annie pulled a muscle at the lower end of her shoulder blade.. Lotsa pain.. Went to the Dr.. Yup, you have a pulled muscle.. AND ?? she won't be much help with the corn..

Dr H, I bet you did not sleep at all last night.. once you get used to being nestled down in the tractor, you will like it.. It prolly has a Deerborn loader, eh? the camelback ? sort of form fitting. is there a hydraulic bucket, or trip? My 8N did not have live hydr either.. you can bet the next tractor I bought, did.

..........jiminwisc........

Good morning all!

Actually wasn't 1/2 bad out this am when I walked the dog, thank goodness, might be warm enough tomorrow for me to plant my bulbs! With all the hours I'm working right now I have to wonder why I bought the darn things, but I never can resist flowers and at least for a few hours I'll get to something I enjoy, play in dirt. I'm sure I'll really appreciate them in the spring (providing they aren't eaten by some critter by then!

)

Jim, sorry about all your losses. Hope Annie feels better soon. LOL about the piggers and goldfish. Kids won some goldfish at the fair years ago and I too was expecting them to croak quickly, but the darn things lived for 3 years. When we moved I sold my fish tank and had to cart their fish in tupperware containers from Missouri to Colorado when we moved. I hated those fish, but the kids were so proud they won them... the things we do for our kids! LOL Can't believe you're still running around bare legged and shoeless, you must be TOUGH!

DrH sounds like you'll be having fun today with that tractor

Have we decided on a place and times yet for the Southern Bash? Inquiring minds want to know... I'm sooo looking forward to it, just praying for weather above 60!

Well, off to make some nice hot oatmeal and get the laundry put away. Have a great day all!

Deb - still chickenless after all these years
