FT... Thanks for the recipe! I ran out to the garden between raindrops LOL and cut a cabbage. It was way more than DH and I could eat so I thought I would make rolls instead, that way I have a head for later. I made the white sauce though and cooked the potatoes w/the cabbage. It wasn't bad but to be fair, it was the cabbage

I don't know if it was the type of cabbage or that it was too fresh, it was rather flat.

I think if it wasn't for the meat and sauce it would have been real bland.

OH well, next time I'll use more cabbage! ............ Hope you got your window closed!

Well, it's same as everyone else here.... muddy!

First full night in the "Big coop" for the ones I got from Jim. Only 3 got "lost" and I had to usher them in. Finished cleaning #1 son's new room. Hope the get him out without a conflict!

#4 grandson's birthday party tonight too. He'll be 3! Big day! Must sleep...Night!

Well I swear I'm gonna get that closet painted today. Got a bunch of other things done yesterday. Hope this weather breaks soon really need some sun too. Still looks like we'll be heading to the camper this weekend

Need some more walleye's for FF's. This moult has gone on for too long. Gonna check around their vents today. I keep looking them over real well and don't see anything crawling. It's been 4 months!

Have been feeding them extra protein but doesn't seem to have any effect.

Better get movin! Suns a comin I just know it!

Well the inspection turned out negative for crawlies.

And I'm seeing new feathers coming in so I guess it's just a hard moult. Any suggestions would be appreciated as far as increased protein. Have been giving them cracked corn as always and been feeding them cooked eggs from Donny. Was thinking of getting a bag of starter or grower/finisher with the higher protein levels? Whatcha think?

Good morning everyone...I decided that I miss too much if I dont come on in the morning...nice to have friends along with coffee!

So I do agree with you Jim (wholeheartedly) about the trimming, dubbing, making them look like you want...that is just what the standard says. Like the standards for dogs. I dont think there were ever any schnauzers that bloodied their tails or ears in the brush...and they are routinely docked. Heck, I wont even declaw a cat cause I think it is cruel--besides the fact that it changes their personality. I will, however, spay and neuter!
Hey BBP--what are your objectives in your lav project? I was reading about breeding lavendar to lavendar and the genetics and they said you end up with a whitish bird? Is that what the object is? The hen is a very nice looking bird!

I have good news in my little quail! The one white bird that I have is actually laying eggs that hatch! I have two little ones that look to be pied. I thought I saw a difference in them and now that they are feathering I can really see the white feathers coming in...it is fun to have some that dont look the same as the rest! Of course I will probably have to keep the "odd" ones just because...hey, I think this is how I got into this 287 bird thing in the first place...gotta get ruthless!
Oh man my coffee is chilly...better get more! Prolly wont have time to drink this whole cup...I have a client at 10 and Carol is coming over to help with "surgery" so I have to go and get some stuff done...

My stew was delicious last night! MMMM--hit the spot on a rainy night. The dumplings were GOOD! I havent had them since last winter...the GF bisquick works well...I think I will try some pancakes with it this weekend. THe only reason I bought it was because they had it 75% off because it was close-dated. It is a pretty tiny box and the original price was over 4 bucks! If you want any convenience at all you really have to pay for it! YEs SIS we have a "Simple Life" store in Fort that has GF flours. I am a little hesitant there because she rebags stuff and has regular flour too. This time I will do more questioning of her procedures because I know more...she has lots of neat stuff in that store. Hey, maybe I can sell her some quail eggs? Trade?
