Yowzer!!! What a lot of pages! Well just saying TO I have extra modern games I want to rehome~but I am not sure where you live. Minw roost in the shed and are the first ones outsude in the morning running all over the yard. I have 9. You can show cockerels undubbed and wont be disqualfied. I know people who primarily show females because they just dont want to dub the males. Now I am back to reading some more.

This morning I went out on the porch and threw some scraps over and they all come running. Mr head honcho is making some funny noises. They are so cute(personality wise)

I just have brown red. Next year should be hatching red pyle bantam leghorns if all goes well.

BBP that is a beautiful hen. You must be feeding her some awesome food to make her feathers so shiny.

H@R I too feed those bird cakes for snacks sometimes. Sometimes I make my own. Melt Lard and peanut butter in a pan, add a tad of sugar, some whole wheat flour and seeds and possibly berries (whatevers on hand). Then I put in tupperware shapes and in freezer till done. They love them.

I feed molting birds high protein feed plus eggs. One silkie (my avatar) molted for two months she was so bad I thought she was going to die. It is like she went into a stuper. I had to separate her from the rest of the flock and pamper her for months. She is good now but doesnt like being back with the chickens

WCC nice chickens. I am not sure what the last three are. I think the middle one is a wyandotte? Ye swaps seem to be place where many people try to get one over on the buyer.

Someone seems nice enough but ya get the birds home and then you find something nasty crawling on them. Of course it could have been an honest mistake. The northern fowl mites are very hard to get rid of. Our show comming up sent out a flyer saying that everyone should spray their birds for mites when they get home. So it must be a real problem especially when you have chickens from different places congregating.


I lost my Boo yesterday.

Splash frizzle cochin. The big rooster wasnt letting him eat, then he got a crop problem, and was very thin. He seemed to rally, but didnt make it. I dont know what I am going to do with big rooster yet, but he cant stay here.

I probably missed a bunch of stuff I cant remember. Ye I cant really get rid of the modern game males to anyone at a swap because they may go to fight them and I wont do that. The last swap I was at I saw a man sell 4 cockbirds (MG) for $12 a piece, the buyer picked them all up by the legs and hung them upside down. I wouldnt do that for any amount of money. I better stop before I get kicked off.


BBP find someone who bought greenfire chickens and then get some hatching eggs from them.

Oh, poor boo! He was cute. Since you'll be down 2 roosters, maybe you need one of mine? I have a 3 month old black one that I didn't get from you. He's looking pretty nice, great big feathers on his feet.

I had to stitch up a wound on my showgirls head last night. She is the one with the wry neck. She must have hit her head hard enough to break the skin. Then of course every time she did her summer saults she got bedding in it. The hole kept getting bigger. I didn't have any super glue like CL mentioned so I sprayed it with Blue Kote, stitched it up then put antibiotic ointment on it. Her whole eye area is swollen up now on that side. Was making progress witht the wry neck too !!

Sure is quiet around here. DH went to work this morning !!! No TV on in the house !!!! He sure was in a good mood this morning !!!

Well, gonna go watch that dvd I said I was gonna watch last night. I fell asleep on it

BBP where did you get your lavender Orps from? I would like to get some more to ad to my flocks bloodlines.

My older ones were from a breeder in Washington. They are Hinkjc lines. The younger are from ChooksChicks. She says they're from 4 different lines.
