I am thinking of just going bantams. This would probably be better for me and them.

I hope your girl does better.

good afternoon, rainy and cold.. staying inside as much as I can.

I sold a pair (I hope) of lavender guineas.. The guy wanted them for insect control.. I think they will be very effective for the next few months..

I will never understand some people.. there was somebody on c.list who sounded desperate to have somebody build a dog-house for them.. I answered that i would, but no response from them.. Why does it take some people soooo long to reply? do they just run these dummy ads for the heII of it ?? or if they got somebody else already, would it break their arm to at least let a guy know ??

I agree, I saw the same add. Some people post and fall off the planet. Loved your comment on insect control
getting tired of all the rain. but better than snow.

Nice afternoon to all...

DrH...Right now all our birds are moulting...some harder than others. What we give them for a treat is a 15 oz.can of each... corn, sun flower seeds and cat food.( Dry right out of the bag.) Mix it in a ice cream pail by hand and treat time! That works for 40 birds. The cat food is 30% protien and they just love it!

Jim...we sent the rain and clouds west. We don't need any more...if we do get anymore the potatoes we have to dig yet are gonna float to the top! Geesh!

FT...I don't think you are that far away from us either.

To...OMG! 287 chickens!!!!! Is that right???

That's all for now I guess. Talk later...

Good evening everyone! THe bumble surgery was a bust today...we did it but there was only a little stone or something encapsulated in there. Did find out that he was LOADED with mites so after we wrapped his foot up we treated him with Ivermax pour on for cattle and dusted him for good measure! Hopefully it will take care of his mites and his leg mites too because I forgot to smear his legs with Vaseline. Thanks again Carol for your help!

She brought me pork and venison and I traded her beef and veggies and eggs(and 2 hens that were hers in the first place!

) I hope the Smilies are back to their antics by the time I post this!

Jim--are white quail supposed to have blue eyes? Mine doesnt...
Tiki--I am very interested in getting some modern games...I will PM you. So sorry to hear about Boo--what a cool looking bird! [NO--you WILL NOT get another breed of chicken on this farm!] Wait...did I just say I wanted some Modern Games?

BBP--SSHHHH...he doesnt know! Well, he probably does but doesnt want to acknowledge it! Kind of like "bury your head in the sand."

Cooking some apples up...DH says he will turn the crank on the squeezo machine...then I will dut up another type of apple and add the chunks...I prefer applesauce with some texture...then on to the pears! I might be in luck though...there might not be too many left so I will just be able to feed them to the chickens and other things and not can them at all...

Smells like my bacon is done baking too...so much to do! Talk later! Terri O

ETA: Hey Brent...I have 2 Hubbards that Carol and I spotted in the garden today! I am so excited...one is the size of a football and the other a baseball...hopefully we have enough season left down here to get them big enough!
