Id stop and get veggies from you if you showed me a little leg

Yeah and he says Donny is the sick-o.. exactly who is showing leg ,, hmmm? Maybe we should call your roadside stand,
DrH's FRUIT STAND .. eh?

they all left already, son/GF daughter/BF.. Annie made cowboy beans and I made sloppy joe's.. and now Annie and Ken went to town, Mom is napping and I have the whole house to myself.. I think I will take a nap..

Annie found a half dozen dead quails under the brooder hood.. I think they were the smallest ones.. maybe they got picked on.?

TO, we had a hard frost last night.. before midnight the cars were frosted so hard that we had to scrape the windshield..

I have enough red tomatoes that I can make another batch of catsup..

Robin unlike Donny's legs at least mine are tan. Think the only time his see daylight is when he takes a shower. Yup Jim you do know me too well. I am a sicko!

This whole Donny thing started when his wife told him that his girlfriend called. [Me] So now When I call him I say hi dear and he'll say hi honey. Everyonce in awhile he'll tell me he's out in the barn doing something and I'll say sooo whatcha wearin? He'll say oh overalls and barn boots. Then I say your so mean you know what that does to me. Then he calls me bad names.

When I see him coming up the road and I pull my pant leg up he jerks the steering wheel around like he's gonna crash the truck.

Got the last of the carrots from the garden cleaned up and ready for a pot roast tomorrow. L is coming home tomorrow morning things are going good with her DD. She doesn't sleep or eat well down there so I always try to get the worst of the house work done and good meal on the table for her return. She always appreciates it.

DrH., that is waaay too funny..but I'm glad you cleared things up for us...LOL

I have a friend who pulls his truck into my lane when we meet on the highway.. most of the time I am thinking of something else and he usually takes me by surprise.. I told him, one of these days a cop is going to see him do that and he wil get arrested.. I did it to him once, and it turned out it wasn't him.. You should have seen the look of terror on THAT guys face...LOL

two Hmong guys just came and bought two ducks.. they are going to clean them and eat them tonight.. It is after 6PM !! Annie said, you will have to cook them for a long time.. he said it didn't matter,, it is Saturday and he has all the time in the world..

I have not heard from the auction friend, today.. I guess there were no peafowl..

tomorrow we will be reducing the flock by about 20 birds.. prolly a half dozen roosters and 4 turkeys for starters.. the new freezer is tiny by our standards, but it froze the deer meat well.. lots of room in there for some birds..

Oh DrH...where were you when I was looking for a husband...she say dreamily....

Got a bunch done today outside...I moved the coop I built and attached it to the PVC run. Put the little guineas in there. They had so much fun! So, there were two or three that didnt make much of a fuss when I grabbed them. I marked them a males...that would be 3 boys and 5 girls...what are the chances? I thought it an interesting experiment. Here is a pic of the st up now:

DrH- that's super sweet of you!

Well as promised, here is a picture of DH's birds that we have added to our group: Golden Eye and Ms Moneypenny! We picked them up this afternoon and they will be isolated to make sure there are no problems. DH has decided that he will also build panels for under our deck/3 season porch(2 story) and turn it into an aviary for these guys plus the peachicks to hang out in
love.gif
This will happen sooner rather than later too!

Jim- what type of peafowl are you still looking for?

So... I got everything done, ,but need to do some more chicken wire in strategic places.
I had seen an ad for serama chicks so went and got some of them for Joan.
Anyway the nice people are offering me a Sears and Roebuck incubator, that works, they hatched eggs in it a few months back, I think the chicks
they sold came from that hatch. A good hatch rate, it has the water pan in the middle, its heavy, all the knobs and things are there.
Here is a pic of one I found like it...
searsincubator.jpg

They are asking 35 for it...
Do you think its a good price?? And yes I would have to manually turn the eggs...

That is an odd looking bator Carol...the only thing I would worry about is when you go to get chicks out of it ALL the heat will escape! It looks like it would be a bit unruly to do it yourself/ Kind of hard to tell from the pick...and you couldnt watch

H&R--looks like your DH has been bitten by the poultry bug....look out now! Great idea to make the "under your porch" area an aviary! Want a couple of parrots for the summer? Those pheasants sure are pretty!

Just got done cleaning up from dinner. DH made a whole chicken on a can of Arnold Palmer. (half tea half lemon aide) He ate 1/4 and so did I...half left for tomorrow. I also made scalloped tomatoes and mashed potatoes and gravy. OOOH it was good! (I am soooo full!) I was glad that I still had 2 pieces of GF bread in the freezer to make the tomatoes...no room for desert either.

I am heading out to close up the critters...then off to bed. I am exhausted after all the stuff I did today...sure am glad I got a few things crossed off of the "do before winter" list!
Nighty night! Sweet dreams....Terri O
