Good morning! Well DrH it is still sunny here...I guess I'd better get my laundry off the line before it gets wet again! I had heard we were supposed to get some rain...of course just when the chicken yard is thinking about drying out some! Jim how much does stone cost? I am thinking that that is the way to go in that door yard. The muck is just too bad; I am leary of putting down stone though because we occasionally take horses through there and I dont want anymore stone bruises on their feet than what they do already! THey seem to find rocks easily enough in the pasture.
Well Jim if we were long lost relatives you still wouldnt have one that was rich! I spend all my money on chicken food! DH was complaining that the geese were in the yard the other day and I told him that he should be glad they are there eating grass and not inside eating feed!

I turned off the bator yesterday. I figured I set 70 quail eggs and got 51 birds out of that...I think that is 73%!

I was sad taking the eggs out though...many of them had pips but were dried out! That really surprised me because there was still water in there. Not that I really NEED any more quail mind you! (still unsure what I should do with the ones I have...) Today I can reclaim my counter.

I was doing some figuring in my coop and I think I have decided to split it into 3 areas...it might be easier to separate birds for next year then so I can sell some Pure eggs and/or chicks...there has to be some way to make my feathered friends support themselves! OK--who is the eternal optimist now....where did I put my rose colored glasses anyway?

TerriO , I just got a call, they are bringing my granite this morning.. we get what they call rotten granite up here.. It is not stoney, packs down like concrete over time..

I am getting this load from my BFF.. I don't know what he is going to charge.. He usually treats me pretty good.. I am going to meet him for breakfast,, soften him up a bit by buying breakfast.. LOL

Cind, is your chick a jungle fowl ? If you don't want to keep it, send it back with FT and I will trade the americauna for it..

Yup Jim VAC straight pull you can get Eagle 3 pts for them but they usually go for a premium. Thought many times about getting or building one. Mine has a 12 volt conversion on the electrics which is nice. I had a VAC years ago too 6V positive ground it had bad valves in it so I always had to jump it talk about quick on the draw with a 12V. Ended up buying an 8V battery, worked like a charm. Don't even know if they make those anymore. Just got back from Donny's going to keep my Case chains the one's he has are the ones you have to put on from the side. That would irritate me cause it's just wrong! Or maybe just different and you know how we are set in our ways.

Think if we were all cousins there was some inbreeding on my branch. Now that the ground isn't saturated here anymore the moles have returned just put the trap back out

Dad told me there used to be a nickle bounty on the front feet. Wish there still was I could use an extra nickle or two once in awhile. Yup no riches on this side of the fam either. BBP of course you have to relocate them, it's all your fault!

TO maybe a load of bigger rock to slow the sink hole then a load of dirt over the top? Keep puttin on those glasses once in awhile! It's good for ya!

You guys make me laugh with the road kill!! Hubby says if I ever see any dead deer on my long drive, that I better pull over, inspect it, call the police to tag it, then bring it home.

Can you imagine a 110lb girl, trying to wrestle a stiff deer, in bright pink scrubs into the trunk of a toyota carolla?!?!

He's lost his marbles that one has...

BTW, The neighbor called me this morning and all of the chickens and bunnies have found homes !! She was just as surprised as I was when she asked the guy yesterday. So that problem is solved. She never did find out what kind they were or anyting.

Well, looks like I am going to be driving up the Eagle River to look at a topper.

So what's the count on chickens that are going on this chicken express ride ????? I'm bringing a DOM Roo for TO, A bantam cochin Roo for WCC, An Ameracana for WCC and what else?

Anyone want some more roosters of mine ? I have RIR, Ameracauna's and some mixes.

DrH--we tried that with the big stone then fines then dirt but the dam^ erosion washed all of it down into the pasture...now I am picking out big rocks every time I go in there...stone bruises for all!
FT...I can meet you at I94 and Hwy 89 if you are coming in that way...I can keep the birds here overnight then you and Carol can decide what is happening! She wasnt sure when I talked to her today...I think Cind wants some Ameracauna hens too...

Hi all--taking a break from my kitchen...yes, I started to clean...OMG! I shoulda worked out in the coops--much easier!
SO I got the micro off the counter and ito it's place on the micro shelf thingy...all the books etc that were on that shelf are in the laundry basket on the floor...the counter is half clean...thinking about putting the electric toaster oven/rotisserie under the micro. It has been on the table since my neighbor gave it to me...thinking it might be a good place to make my toast since I cant use the regular toaster...darn GF issues strike again! OK enough!

FT--I am working until 1:30 or so on Friday...no idea about Carol.
Hung the fly strip before I started working...no flies walking on me right now--maybe I caught them? There are 5 stuck on there already! I had another one to hang but dam^ if I know where I set it down...now you know why I need to clean. Every flat surface seems to be covered with something!

Well, dogs barking to eat...guess I gotta go again! Jim--must be a loooong breakfast!~Dinner tonight is spicy Thai beef...I will let you know....Terri O
