gotta clean the TV .. I have enough quail eggs for one more batch.. as long as the bator is going to be running anyway,,,,

raining off and on here.. I would like to scrape a little more behind the lean/to before I spread an granite..

You beat me to the punch TerriO.. sand over rock never works.. the sand sifts down between the rocks and/or washes away , either way, the larger rocks always end up on top..

I could really take a nap..

None of the dogs will round up the chickens, well the old fat one (sassy) did once but I think it was an accident

Another break here...I was thinking about going out to lock up the guineas b4 dark and then I smelled RAIN!!!!

I ran outside and got the laundry down...only slightly damp! Bummer about the rain..I was hoping that DH would take the dogs to the dog park and them I could go for a short ride and then make dinner....maybe it will stop? (yeah right...) i tried to take my car into town today but when the Sheriff showed up yesterday I forgot of turn off the ignition...going no place! Car is deader than dead!
well--I guess I'd better get dinner at least kinda ready....LOL! terri O

Supper's on! And it's pouring outside!!! I am disappointed cause I wanted to go to the dog park tonight for the full moon walk. Darn! Oh well, guess I get to stay in here and listen to the rain...after getting the laundry in I had no time to get the birdies in or the tortoises. Guess it will be me, a raincoat and the flashlight tonight! (I hate that...) And my baby pigeons must be getting wet.....well, perhaps I'd better be going out there before dinner hey?

Well, my incubator is back on. No eggs in it though. My brother found a baby red squirrel today. Poor thing is cold! And weak. He's on elecrolites for now. Hopefully he improves a little by morning. I've raised a flying squirrel and gray squirrels, but never a red.

Good luck with the red squirrel BBP! We raised three gray ones befor we were married...it was interesting! Did he bow out of a tree nest? There is a bit o wind here tonight and it started pouring as I was doing the night chores...decided to leave the tortoises out...they were buried quite deep and the door to their house was inside still drying--they broke it in half again this morning trying to get out!
The dinner was delish! I am glad that I had the Pak-choi from the CSA to add--it gave it nice flavor and made a more substantial dish. It was not hot in the least...not even a tough of spice! It called for red pepper and I put a fresh hot red one from the garden in...no heat! Oh well--it was good just the same!
I am actually going to watch a TV program tonight! The new Parenthood show...I have seen the previews and it looks good. Already told DH that the TV is MINE at 9! LOL!
Off to clean up the kitchen...good night! Terri O

I hooked up the back blade and scraped the guinea yard.. It sure was nice to walk back there and not be ankle deep in mud/poop... I took a bit of top soil with it.. It is all on the compost pile, so it is not going to waste..

still didn't get a nap in ..

the peahens decided that they like to go into the guinea pen for the night.. I don't care who goes in where, as long as they all go in..

I had ordered a BR roo from the hatchery but either they didn't send one or it died early on.

I'll let you know. Where are you locatd ??? I see NE WI, hopefully not to far from me. I'm between Crandon and Pelican Lake.

Btw Jim what is a tractor snort ???? Or how do you makea tractor snort ??

Cind, I need the topper on the truck so I can bring down the chickens !!! Got a lead on one in Minoqua but they want $475. I emailed and asked if they would take $300, we shall see.

Oh and the bunnies are for pets !!!

Sorry I don't need any extra Roo's My order was screwed up instead of 30 birds I ended up with 43 and 34 were roosters..............eeeeeeeeeekkkkkkkkkkkk, I already butchered 15. I have the rest of these guys to do and they are so pretty, friendly, and Characters. I just can't seem to make myself do it. Especially with my BF roo always sucking up to me and cooing and clucking at me, today I brought them some scrambled eggs and he jump right on my shoulder the second I opened the pen door..y hubby was there working on our brakes in the car and yelled out he wanted a divorce I was fooling around on him.....hehehe ....arggggg he's so very sweet, they all are actually not 1 has shown any sign of aggressive behavior, but they are separated from the hens and have there own rooster grow out pen.
BR babies are dark with some white patchy fluff, their colors don't start coming in till 4 weeks or so.

kinda freaked out tonight... we saw a bobcat in our backyard and a a few minutes later the hens started freaking out. We were standing outside just watching the bobcat look at the gals. Might put a trap in the backyard... for now i put out the trail cam to see if it comes back. coop is pretty secure after our bad raccoon experience in the spring. freaky stuff!

otherwise gonna can some pears tomorrow. might try to make some of that pear butter that sounded good!

otherwise tomorrow is my grocery shopping morning without kids. Love having 2 mornings a week to myself while the twins are in 4k. So wonderful to have time to look at labels or go back to an aisle after i left it that impatient kids dont appreciate!
