I think that Lion must make entirely too much money, Jim. He got fined previously , what did they say, like $42k? And this was the 4th time or so that he's done that? I guess he doesn't learn from his mistakes. If you ask me, they should kick him out of the NFL since he can't seem to follow the rules. Then let him see how easy it is to make a living. Children are watching. They are supposed to be role models & show good sportsmanship. Yeah, right..........

jvls1942 : LOL dpends on what you think is the "best" weather...Ideal hunting weather or just weather in general? How would today rate? Excellent weather but not so great for hunting?

My SO had a fresh bear print in front of his stand yesterday morning-pretty big one too.

Of my 2 chickens that are old enough to lay-they both must have decided to take a break for thanksgiving today LOL..actually had to buy a dozen this morning as I was one or two short (last week we had 31 eggs-went through them pretty fast with all the company!

IS there anything to the thought that: Feeding scraps,treats, oatmeal as a supplement to their regular diet, it will cause them to lay less?

Happy Thanksgiving to all my Cheesehead friends. Had 17 people in our small house today and it was wonderful. It's all cleaned up with some yummy leftovers. I hope you all had a great day with loving friends and family. The Packers helped with the celebration

we feed all the cooking and table scraps to the birds.. also day-old bread..

doesn't seem to bother them,, I have at least 3 maybe 4 geese laying right now.. and the one turkey is still giving an egg everyday.. and the chickens are at about a dozen per day.. I don't know how many chickens I have, though.. I think about 15.. I will count them tomorrow.. (if I remember)..

about 3 weeks ago I switched all feed to just 50/50 ground corn and oats.. that didn't put a hick-up in the egg production.. much easier on the $$$$$... and the nonlaying birds are looking very trim..

the peahen and one turkey hen that I thought were sick a couple of days ago, must have just had a bad day..

I took my client home...she was very thankful that we had her over for dinner...must have said it 5 times! (or more) I think she had a good time. She really liked our little JRT laying on her lap. The dog was in heaven too!

My chores are done and I think I am going to head up to bed....ahhhh---that will feel good!

Happy Thanksgiving Evening All... busy day here hunting til noon, then off to my son's house for dinner and the second half of the game. Really good to see them pull off the win today. Hard to believe that Sui is allowed to play professional football. I guess you can't fix stupid! Hope he gets a good fine and a couple game suspension, he doesn't belong on the field....aint that right TO!

Nice and warm today. No frozen waterers anywhere today. I like that.

Nice to see folks stop by just to say hi and wish everyone a good Holiday. Same to all of you!

My birds get all the scraps here to. They love it, and I don't ever allow food to go to waste. Nothing ever goes in the garbage here...ever.

funny, right after supper I couldn't stay awake.. now I can't get to sleep..

Brent, I may be wrong, but I cannot remember any Packer getting ejected.. I am hard pressed to remember a poor sportsman penalty.. Not counting spiking the ball or "taunting" (touchdown victory dance).. a penalty that I find riduculous.. grown men cannot take a little ribbing after a touchdown,? c'mon guys, grow up.. my daughters can take more abuse than they do.. and they can dish it out also.. a canasta game in this house would send most football players looking for the nearest door or window to escape..

I liked the no freeze waterers too.. cuts the chore time in half.. only when it is warm like that, it does not feel bad to spend some extra time out there..

I have 19 eggs in the bator now.. what am I going to do with these goslings, even if only half of them hatch ??

this spring should be exciting around here.. I have 7 Royal Palm hens.. and you know me, I cannot refuse to hatch every egg they lay.. and I have the 7 young turkeys that are not sexed yet,, some of them might be hens, too .. I do know for sure that at least one of them is a tom..

Hi all!
Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving! Supper at my youngest was "interesting" . Let's just say .... they tried

There was much talk over the meal about how they miss their friend's cooking. The one that is now a sou' chef at a fancy hotel in Hawaii !!! I will say, the turkey turned out nice and moist though!

I'm finishing up 6 pies, 4 of which are going to 2nd son's Fri. (today) Have to keep a couple for us!

Guess nothing else to say...Night all!

Dang... Almost Dec. and I just pulled a wood tick off the cat!!!

Good Day After All! Not getting on the scale for at least a week. Glad to hear from you bec you know your missed on here!

And MLH, Susie, Robin, and so many others! Was kinda hoping BCC would post her neat Tday post. Always a treat. Angie TO's right mine are on a diet. I was looking at them yesterday and the day before and.... They are the fattest chickens I've ever seen. I'm giving them 2 more months to start laying... then I'll probably give them 2 more and 2 more

CC no big day unless Peatwo officiates. Neighbor/friend who owns the 110 acres next to me says he has 2 Fishers on his trail cam.

Not a good thing! Might have to spend some time this winter in the deer stand with a wounded rabbit call and a shootin iron. Was planning to get at least half of the remaining pile of wood split yesterday but Donny dropped over. I hate when he interupts me! Didn't get anything out of the convo other than he still didn't have the number for the guy that we're getting some pigs from

56 minutes later I went back to work.

Swore up and down that I wasn't going anywhere on Black Fri. But TSC has softener salt on sale. South end of town and don't expect much for lines there. Gonna call before I go.
