I hope everyone had a filling Thanksgiving!!!

I cooked a 20 lb turkey...... it JUST fit into the roasting pan!!! We had with it the traditional mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, stuffing, gravy, fresh cranberry sauce, rolls, green beans (with bacon and sauteed onions), jello, and some pickles and olives to round things out. Mulled cider, fruit juices and sparkling grape juice for the kids; grown-ups doctored whatever they were drinking with the appropriate additives

. Then we had dessert: Apple, Pumpkin, and Lemon Meringue pies!!!!

I had the breakfast of champions this morning........ Pie and coffee.

Deer hunting went well for my DH and oldest son, not so great for my oldest DD. Both hubby and DS shot Does; DD managed to miss not one, not two, but three Bucks...... poor kid flinches every time she shoots so all her shots are way off of course. She did not have that issue last year....... maybe she will manage to get one on Saturday.

Sometime over the weekend I have to start cranking out some more soap.... and eventually get my Christmas decorations up AND clean up all the stuff laying around they yard!

Thank goodness for those massages!

Good morning! Just waiting for my farrier to get here...he was supposed to be here at 9...guess he is running a bit slow today too! BL4--do you think there are any Black Friday shoppers here on the Cheeseheads? I think most of us are enjoying our pie and coffee this morning...except me--I didnt make a GF one.

I did enjoy my pie and coffee this morning after getting cheap socks and unders for the kids at walmart. Going for a run today possibly and spending time with my family. Thanksgiving dinner with the in-laws on Saturday. My neighbors are taking care of the chickens and peeps. 3 more weeks and the peeps will head to the coop.

The Seramas are really intimidated by the layers, but are getting more comfortable. They do have space to hide in the coop so I am not worried about them.

I keep wishing I had 40+ acres to hunt on and raise more chickens... If any of you want to give me a present I would not turn down acreage in the Superior area.

good morning, I think I am up for all day.. I was in and out of bed about 3 times last night.. first I couldn't stay awake, then I couldn't sleep .. finally went back to bed at 5AM and stayed there until about 10.. It must have been that I ate too much.. gotta do that on T-day.. I am not hungry even yet..

got one goose egg so far today.. #20.. I have to set up another tray.. I am running this batch through on their sides rather than standing on end.. i usually get only about 50% hatch.. see if this makes any difference..

If anybody is planning on building an incubator, there are two premade manual turner trays on craigs list. wausau.. Pittsville area.. I am the person who told the guy what he had.. He thought they were sifters for dirt or something.. $5.oo each..
that is about 10% of what they are worth..

sounds like somebody just came in upstairs.. better go see who it is..

Terri O: I made all 3 pies gluten free-Pumpkin, pecan and cranberry walnut.....I just used "Pamelas mix" in place of the flour. Love that there is someone else here that understands how tough that can be...lots of Tday dishes that we had to make 2 of-one regular and one GF.

Thanks for the feedback on feeding treats/table scraps. My older hens are pretty tubby (continuing the spoiling of the beautiful hens from BlackBrookPoultry).

I think I need to have a 'discussion' with those silly call ducks...... those bonehads are laying AGAIN!!!! I guess they think we had a SUPER short winter and so it is Spring once again!

TO, I did the BF thing a time or two.... I just decided sleeping in was more important this morning, that and I did not see anything anywhere thay anybody wanted/needed.

Anybody want a quartet of call duck juvies??? Would make a GREAT Christmas present!

Afternoon All.... More hunting today, nothing added to the meat pole though.
Can't help you with the runners pongoid, others may give you good advice on them here.

Jim remember back in 1986 when Charles Martin slammed Chicago's Jim McMahon to the turf after a pass play. Martin was ejected and also had a 2 game suspension. I can still see him getting slammed to the ground. Then later in 1996 McMahon was back-up QB for the Pack and earned his second super bowl ring with the Pack that year. That's the one I remember, don't know if their are others or not?

Ken, I could use just another 20 acres. It would keep the not so considerate neighbors far enough way to keep them from annoying me at times....oh ya love my neighbor

I went shopping last night and got the 3rd of 4 power wheels for DS6yr. and lots of clothes and pjs unders and sock for the family, had to be careful, walmart up'ed their prices on NON special items. $13 for 3 pairs of unders? NOT! watch those prices people!
anywho, later I gotta go write down what I bought and start checking my list. I'm having a hard time finding something for my DS 8. too da loo

gotta a big draft in the house today, lol theres a hole in my wall? lol in August my cousin put her hand through the window in the door (no she didn't get hurt, the glass was also VERY thin) and today DH is putting in the new door. I think he got the hint I wanted it in cause I hung a christmas decoration on the window while it was sitting in the garage
