Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Happy Black Friday everyone and good afternoon!!
I got up early (5 am) to get to Menards but hit the snooze instead! I eventually got to Menards at about 7 ish and I got everything I wanted plus some great finds! I got a pizza stone USA made for 10 bucks!!! That was way cheaper then the one I got from Pampered Chef years ago! I also got some heaters and some door draft stoppers and fleece blankets and some soft rifle and pistol cases/carriers and some other stuff too. I only went to Menards for BF and I have to say that it was enough!

For the chicken and table scrap question, I give my girls pretty much everything and anything and I have not had any problems with egg laying production. However, I will say that you want to watch how much protein you add into their diets. If you give then to much protein ( meat sourced) then you will start having egg production issues. I learned this when DH "discovered" how much chickens love dog food. A few kibbles are fine but any more then that and that can cause problems in egg production. Feeding meat as a treat is fine but just watch how often and how much you give it to them.

Ok for the football people, didn't the "taunting"/end zone dance penalty come about because for a while some players got way to carried away with the end zone dancing? Is that right?

Well, I've gotta jet, the dogs are getting pesty-they want dinner NOW!!!

Good evening--MLH--you must have fed your dogs at 5 for the whole summer? Mine beg now at 5 to 4:00 for their dinner! Sometimes I even give in! Lets them "get it out" before night time if you know what I mean...

Yes dogs, like chickens cannot tell time! I fooled my horses tonight too...I fed them at 4:45 and locked every one in then too...we are going to Madison for the hockey game tonight and I really didnt want to have to do it when we got back...I got a few surprised looks; especially from the call ducks--they did not want to go in so early for sure! I took a couple of night roosting pics that I would like to share. The one of the Mille Fleur I just couldnt get to turn out...he was trying to eat the red light on the camera! He looked so cool though puffing up his ruff like he was a dinosaur!

Really big scary bird with red eyes in the tree....

So now we have to leave.....even though the game doesnt start for 2 hours....*sigh* not like we dont have reserved seating.....sigh again....
Good night--Terri O
(PS)
Sorry KEN--I dont have the land in Superior...if I did I would give it to you!

Is he at the assisted livin place ? That is so good for those old folks to have things around like that. They ought to get a chicken, they can all take turns changing the diaper !!!

Speaking of diapers, I am going to order one for Sparky, Sparkler or whatever else I call him. The White showgirl roo that took the road trip to Racine and back with me. He is wearing a make shift diaper now. He acts like he owns the place !! He is a riot. Is even brave enough now to jump on my bowl while I was eating. Put a stop to that in a hurry !!! He begs right along side Butt Dog for treats !!! He is a character !!!

Yes I have a couple that as soon as they see me with food they run over to me. lol I put them out now though, having a hard time keeping the house clean.

They seem to make too much noise. Makes me nervouse. Kinda like those yappy seramas. The Egyptian Fayomios supposedly make a different crow but I have not found out how it sounds.

Thanks Tiki--it was...(when I read that I had to make sure it was you saying that--that's BigZ's line ya know!)

THose roos do have a weird crow! I dont think I would like to be hearing that at 3am! Sounds very jungle like though...maybe they are copying a wild jungle bird? I would be afraid of the lions and tigers showing up...and maybe the neighbors with shotguns?

So AngieB--you did your crusts with the GF flour? Does it behave like regular flour and lard do when you make wheat crust? I have seen recipes for pie crust but it looks like the dough is way different than what I am used to. The people said the pie that my client bought was OK...but now as good as mine! I do make a mean pie! If I could get GF flour to act like regular stuff then I would go back to making pies! It is just so different when making bread or rolls or really anything...nothing like using regular with yeast or baking powder...a whole new way of baking for sure. NO kneading whatsoever...'cause why do you need until the dough is elastic???? Silly--TO DEVELOP THE GLUTEN!!! That's why! I never thought when I first read that that it would become the enemy...I even added EXTRA gluten to fancy breads I made for a higher rise...oh those were the days....

OK--so the hockey game was fun. I had the best time watching the students in the student section! When a new goalie came out they starting yelling, "BORING HELMET!" over and over. Very silly kids! Then when there was 2 minutes left they yelled, "STAND UP OLD PEOPLE!" Then we had to stay standing until the game was over...DH says they do it at every game...there is a bunch more stuff they do; but you kinda have to be there. They did well though...7 to 2! SO we get free ice cream at Culver's tomorrow! We are going to try and use it after the dog park...maybe they will honor it in Creek?

There is a pigeon show in Jefferson tomorrow that I am going to go to. I am going to see if I can buy one of those one way doors (that are supposedly so simple to make) so they can go in and out. I have to figure out how to train them too...I really would like to race them someday!

I think I am going off to bed now...that is unless some more people have posted and I feel the need to answer...sweet dreams everyone! Terri O

Terri I watched a show where they used alcohol instead of water when making a dough, because it helps prevent the formation of gluten! Don't know if you would find some thing on the internet about that... but thought I would share.
