Hey all,
Recovering from our trip down to Racine for my Addies First Birthday Party !!!!
OMG we can't take it, she is so so cute. Poor little angle has pink eye and a bad cold. Her little eyes are normally big round blue and georgeous. They are still gorgeous but not wide open, poor girl.
She only cried once when her mother took a wash rag and wiped the cake she managed to smear all over her face !!!
Anyway, we were going to drive home Saturday night but with the weather supposedly bad we waited till Sunday morning to come home. Had to stop and drop something off at my Sisters and my BIL invited us in for coffee. That delayed our trip home.
Does anyone remember that I was going to pick up Runner Ducks on the way home ????? Well, I dropped Chuck off at Cabella's (sp) and went to pick them up. I got 4 new hens and took 3 drakes. I didn't have any black drakes so I took two of black and one chocolate one. Got two black hens and two pieds. At least I think that is what I got, they move fast !!
Anyway, the I got to see all of the animules she had. She has silkies, frizzles, runner ducks, a goreous mini horse, two goats and pot bellied pigs. She had 3 pigs, now only has 2 !!!!
The runners only took up one crate in the back of the truck and I brought two !!!
I honestly tried and tried and tried to call my DH to "ask" or should I say "tell" him and see if I could bring him home. No Answer !!!! I only had $22 in my pocket and she was askig $25. She had him on CL for $100 but offered him to me for $25. I said I only have $22 left (after buying the ducks) and she said "load him up" !!
He is adorable. He is all black with a white upside down triangle on his forehead and four white socks. She called him Squeak or was it Squeal ???
Cause he was the loudest at dinner time !!
So DH finally called me wondering where I was and I told him I'd be about a half hour. I asked what he bought at Cabellas and he said nothing !! Good !! Well, I couldn't keep the secret so I told him about Squeaky, His reply "WHAT" by the time I got there to pick him up he had a ice fishing pole in his hand. I said how much for the pole, he said More then the PIG !!
It was $61 for a freakin ice fishing pole !!!! I asked if he went back in the store to buy it after I told him about Mr Pig, he said YEP !!! Ahhhhh, just like a little boy !!!
You got something, now I got something !!
Stopped at Shopko in Oshkosh to get a Barbie doll for the baby (I know she is only a year old) but I am going to put it away til she is older (got the veterinarian one) but if you spent $15 on a Barbie you get a free Barbie in the mail that comes with a Barbie horse !!!!
Bound and determined to get her to love horses.
It is so funny to see all of the gifts she got. Everyone has their own interests that they are trying to influence on her. My brother is a huge fisherman, so he gave her a bathtime fishing pole with fish to catch.
A good friend of my nieces that goes hunting with her gave the baby an blazed orange hunting stocking cap and a pink camoflage sippy cup. Addie was such a sport, wore the hat and then tipped the empty cup to see if anything was in it !!!
I gave her a singing, dancing horse, a big stuffed horse and of course some Elmo Stuff, she is in love with Elmo !!
Sure wish I could bend like that little girl. There was a piece of tissue paper (wrapping, not toilet Jiim) in the bottom of the gift bag. She bent down into the bag to see what was in the bag, almost did a complete summersault right into the bag !!! It was hilarious !!
Although after seeing that I can see how they fall into pails etc.
Oh and of course I needed to stop at Fleet Farm for pig food. Stupid kids they hire these days. They had no idea what food. So I bought the food up to 75lb pigs but it is medicated to prevent certain illnesses. Now that I've been reading I don't see anyone using that for pot bellied pigs. The only other food they had was for pigs over 75lb but I don't want to overfeed him and get him to be 300 lbs for goodness sake !!
And after calling the Country Store in Antigo today they want $15 for 25lbs of miniature pig food by Purina !!! Geez just cause it is a pet they want so much more !! And well it is Purina !!
So then I called my feed store and they are sold out of their mini pig food. A woman that has two mini's bought the last 8 bags cause she doesn' want to drive in the winter weather to buy more.
Little Squeaky followd me all over the yard today, running after The ATV !!
He is a character that is for sure !! Just have to watch the dogs, after reading more looks like dogs might just like Pigs ie Yummy !!
DH plowed the driveway this AM before work and when he came in to say goodbye for work he said oh and I didn't get a chance to feed and water the chickens !!! Ok, well I knew what I was going to be doing.
Dang, think he could have hauled out the food from he basement for me or told me he hadn't put any in the coop closets !!!!
So Butt Dog and I spent ALL afternoon hauling food and water to all the coops. The new runners are fitting in just fine with my originals. They just all run in a herd like they've lived here their whole lives except on occassion they wouldn't turn when the others did and would get run over (get it Runner Duck
) but they soon got with the program !!!
Anyway the woman that I got them from has some Runner Duck Drakes (I think 4 maybe 5) that she still needs to find homes for. I was only going to take 2 but took 3. I would have taken them all but I have to stop at some point. Runners are nice ducks !!
SO if anyone is looking for Runner Duck Drakes let me know and I'll hook you up. She is moving to a smaller farm and wants to downsize. Oh and btw these are for pets or breeding only. She does not want to sell them to someone that is going to eat them !! She also may be looking to rehome some silkie roosters.
Thanks for missing me TO and Cind !!! Yeah where is Jimbo ????? Maybe he is on a road trip too??? Bringing home ??????
Butt Dog and I are still thawing out !!! I didn't want to carry all of the pails of water to each coop so I plopped them down on the ATV foot pad or whatever you call it. But I did manage to spill some all over my pant leg, the real side !!!! Boy was that cold, especially when I went to get the mail (1/4 mile down the road on the ATV just after the sun went down ) HOOO hoooo, almost as cold as that Rain Shower on the ATV !!
Sorry to hear of the frizze loss Ken, I hate finding a sick or dead chicken.
Hope you can find someone to put you kitty down. Maybe post something on you Veterinarians bulletin board ???? Hopefully by the time you read this it will have been done. Have you checked out CareCredit at your Vets office? It is basically a credit card with very very low interest that allows you to make small payments for your own medical bills or your pets.
Well, DH is home from work. Gotta figure out what's for supper !!!!
