Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

good morning all, I was reading when you posted TerriO.. close, but no cigar..

around here I make the weak coffee.. Annie makes it so strong a spoon can stand straight up in the cup..

Our Packer schedule says a NOON game..the paper says 3 PM. ?

Cind, you need a Thai rooster, now. those Thai chickens are so sweet.. last summer mine layed eggs rather steadily.. Not a huge egg,,

TerriO maybe ice had something to do with your leaky waterer.?

Tike, it might be too early in the morning for me,, what is a POL pullet?

TerriO, I went to the O.F.'s thread and found that post.. If I rant like that I am a troll.. I guess it must be all in the delivery..
I have run into that guy in the incubation thread prior.. we have argued and agreed on subjects there..

Sandi, why was I not surprised to read that you hit that pipe? Don't feel bad.. when I first got my camper on my pick-up truck, I hit the canopy overhead at the gas station.. slid the camper back about a foot..

Sandi, your mama cat is getting ready to get bred again.. that is how they treat any of their male offspring.. they will drive them away.. If yours has the chance, he will take off to a neighbor's house and become theirs..

I have a request to make pancakes, last week I blended a banana into the batter,, they were not bad..

right on it jim!!! point of lay pullet! but I suppose those would probably be hatched in November or December and by the time a person got done feeding them for the winter it wouldnt hardly be worth it.

I heard somewhere the games like thais are monogamous (sp?) Is this true?

I don't think there is a species that is monogamist. they say the same about geese. but just let the goose be sitting on eggs and the gander is off chasing all the other gooses.. I had one Thai rooster in the pen with 3 hens.. they all layed fertile eggs..(no CC, not the rooster too)..

Good Morning everyone! TO if you call 4:30 sleeping in I'm guilty. Taz Devil [L's cat] woke me up wisely from the floor telling me it was time for food. Tried to get her to come into bed and lay down but mommy wasn't there so no dice. Sounds like someone needs to be makin his-sy own coffee!

This morning I finally got off my duff and started working on our B'room. Had a what the H moment that so often happens when I work on this house. I took a flashlight and was looking at the gap where the ceiling and the walls meet. I could see the upstairs studs above the top plate on the walls. What the... How the ... Why the.... Just happened to have a can of Great Stuff and sealed it with that. Might be a little warmer in there when I'm done and less ice dams too. So while that cures I mudded in the nailheads. Think I'll tape the joints tomorrow. Q'd chicken wings on the menu for the games today

Not the downtown/store type, you can only eat 2 of these at a sitting. FT maybe it was the fumes that blinded your driving.

Jim was thinking about those fancy hoses wouldn't a roof tape shoved through the hose work just as well and cheaper? You'd have to add some sort of Tee in it for the wire and seal it up as good as you can but the water isn't on that long. Just thunkin. Gotta get the wings goin!

Tiki--the cookie tin waterer is real easy...you take a cookie tin, (my first one was a metal Trivial Pursuit box) freeze some water in it and make a hole in the side with a circle hole saw that corresponds to the size of your fixture. I use my old heat lamp ones that the dome is all bent up on. I unscrew the fixture and take the dome off. Undo the wires. Then put it through your drilled hole, put the wires back on the terminals and screw the back back on. Put a bulb in, plug it in and you are ready to go! Very simple!
The new one I made is in a tin that is a cube shape. I plan to use it with the gallon size waterers.

Jim I dont think it was from ice...cause it is heated and if it was frozen it wouldnt leak?

Trying it again today...although it is 40 out there right now...

Gotta go and get something-anything-done! Been a lazy weekend all in all! Terri O

LMAO when I read this-does this ever sound familiar... was jsut complaining to my SO about the same thing-except he includes a few (!&!@(*!(*@ in there. For some reason our Drathar will go ta couple days where she thinks she needs to get up a couple times a night-either a drink of water or bathroom break. And SO decides to have a "discussion" with her about how shes going to go out and stay out and freeze her a$$ off if she whines again, adding "I mean it dawg!" and a few mins later comes back in with her trotting along behind!!!

BBP: Thanks for the kind words-still struggling with "Ahmelia" The lil black banty-shes still not walking but eating and as perky as ever!

Good morning cheese heads!! Everyone planning your day around the Packer game?

(and I'm personally pouting about the Ryan Braun allegations)

DH and I made a trip to the feed lot and picked up some more chicken food and a bale of straw the other day. Over the past few weeks we have enclosed their run with tarps, put out the heated water bowl, heat lamp in the coop, put up a rope light in the run (since the tarps make it a little cave-like) and now added a nice layer of straw for the girls to snuggle into and keep warm.

we keep prepping it for winter, expecting snow any day...... And I'm not complaining, but is it me or does it seem strange that we haven't had much snow yet? Seems like this time last year we had already had a blizzard or two. I would love a mild winter after the last few we have had.

Anyway it's a sunny day! Have a good one y'all!

I just officially made my order for 2000 lbs of feed I was telling you guys about. Its 20 cents a pound and is 35% hard spring wheat, 15% millet, 25% flax and 25% oats. I'm so excited. What a deal! And my chickens prefer the whole grains over processed feed. I bought Layena pellets recently and they pick the oats and cracked corn out that I mixed in there and won't touch the pellets.

DrH, the hose is just that, a heat tape within the hose with some sort of thermostat.. I think the heat tape got broken about 15 feet from the faucet end. I try to not coil it too tightly, but a few times when I was stretching it out, it kinked..

I have just as good luck with a regular hose, as long as I drain it completely when I am finished running water..

what is this about Ryan Braun? I don't read the papers and seldom watch news on TV..

there are many years that we hold our breath for a white Christmas.. this type of weather is ideal for ice fishermen. the ice has no snow mixed in and it is clearer , smoother and harder.
You can ice skate on this kind of ice.
