Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Dr. H I had to work today and Neilsville is quite a hike for somebody who can't even HAVE chickens; it would be like dangling a steak just out of reach of your dog.....

I'll be at the one next week here in town though!

Sorry about the head cold TerriO, eucalyptus oil in your steam vaporizer will help with the congestion (in the little reservoir on the top NOT in the water), and some Vicks vapo-rub of course...... I like Zicam as well along with an overload of Vit. C..... and of course some good homemade chicken noodle soup! (But I bet you knew all of this already

......)

BigZ, not sure but I think they do have Guiness on tap there. The fish was wonderful! My DH had the scampi which smelled soooooo good!!!!

Hoping to take the oldest DD to Appleton tomorrow to do a little shopping; she has been a good babysitter for us the past few weeks and so she deserves a shopping trip.....

BL4 I went back through the posts and now see that your "I'm going to be there" was in reference to the Wega show not Neilsville. My bad. Sorry for the misplaced tease. Up at 4 again. I see I'm not the only one Mornin KAQ and to all. Don't have any experience with a bator but it would seem to me that you won't see or hear anything until a day or two before they hatch. Hope to someday get my internal clock reset to sunrise, that'd be nice. It was a neat thing to see the barn lights come on for the morning milking on the way to Neilsville. L said why do they leave their lights on all night. I told her well you know how I use a light in the coop for the chickens to lay more eggs, farmers do that so the cows produce more milk. She bought it. City girl! Then I told her the truth. I know it was mean but it was fun, at least for me and that's what it's all about. I always enjoyed deer hunting down south and watching the neighboring farms in the valley below come to life. Cows bellaring to be milked, roosters crowing, and dogs happily walking out to the barn with their masters. Yup agreed TO exhaustion will lower your defenses to the affliction of others. All good remedies given from everyone. Vicks and an old T-shirt, tucked into bed with a moist air vaporizer, about a 1,000 mg's a day of vitC, chicken soup, and hang a dead skunk above the bedroom door. The later is just to keep others away. You need rest. Hope you feel better soon! Hope to accompish something today but not feeling very olympic today coach. Again!

Cripes I'm tired this morning but up and at em at 5:30 am...I've got a part time job on weekends to offset college costs for my kids and it was a bear getting up this morning but here I am working and it's not so bad. Dr H sounds like you've got a great family and it reminds me how lucky I am as well. Mom takes good care of me and all the offspring are relatively well-behaved and we've got chickens so how hard could it be?

Terri O kick back today and let your head decompress. I like alka seltzer plus cold medicine and chicken soup, it works but a cold will run it's course on it's own sweet time. Stress is always what wears me down and puts me in the crosshairs for getting sick. knock on wood I'm doing alright and warm weather cannot get here fast enough. We've got all our supplies for the coop and now this week I'm REALLY going to get serious about getting the coop together.

I think I do need a bird to replace my GLW, I know he's a he...but what a beautiful bird, already his coloring is so remarkable.

Someone said something here about someone having SLW???? Hmmmmm.

Now BBCB you opened a can of worms. I could tell by your posts that your good people but to have a complete or nearly complete JP collection has sealed the deal. If your a fan of John Prine then your real people! If your serious about burning me some CD's I will take you up on the offer and will gladly, gladly pay your asking price. I'll have to go through mine to see what I'm missing. Let me know. My turn. Make me a poster of an old rodeo. Just give me one thing that I can hold on to......./Bonnie Raitt

That house should burned down a long time ago, Dr H...you're welcome to anything I have, just let me know what you need. Do you have the Duets? You know with Prine and Iris Demint doing In Spite of Ourselves? Just let me know and we'll take good care of you.

Good Morning one and all.

sometimes you can, sometime you only here pepping once the chick has started to pip, movement will be the same, if you are able to see one get out that's the best, and is a rare one.

This might be my last post till next fri or sat, i have to fly out to flordia and drive my parents car back, I'm hopeing to be back by fri but we will see. I'll try to check back one more time before I fly-out. so if i can't have a great week, see you when i get back.

BBCB Your the greatest! Both as a father and a soon to be eternal friend. I saw him and Iris play the first time in the Cities the second time with Paul Thorne. Have some compilations with Iris on them. I went with an old girlfriend to see them she didn't like her. Notice the "old girlfriend" part. The only song I have with Bonnie is Angel from Montgomery there has to be more somewhere. Love Bonnie Raitt! Also appreciated the humor in " how hard could it be?". If you like JP give Goose Creek Symphony a listen. Blue Grass with a twist. A lot of truth in it. Back outside! Hope you have a safe trip BCC!!!! But empty pop bottles was all we would kill....

Well, I went and picked up the rabbit hutches yesterday. They grossly overestimated the dimensions - they're about 5' long and 2' wide each - but I brought them both home anyways, because I figure now I can have quail! (or a run for ducklings and chicks to go outside in on nice days - I can never have enough pens/hutches/coops

)

It was still a great deal, because there's easily $20 worth of hinges and hardware cloth between them, and the White Call can live temporarily in one of them to get him out of the garage until the new pen is finished for him to move in with the Mallards.

I'm a little disappointed that I didn't make it to the Neilsville swap - I've been going through the swap list, trying to find the next one I'll be able to make it to!

Hello all! Terri o- I hate head colds as well. Hope you feel better!
Dr HaHa- You are so funny. I would love to see a chicken that says AArrug! That would be great for Halloween. You could walk a neighborhood in your matching outfits!
Well Had to work with DH this weekend. I'm pooped! We painted a lady's house yesterday and I have to say I really don't like painting. Up and down the ladder. Dh saying "don't spill any" all the time. I also really don't like working for him. He's a good boss but is so picky! Guess that's a good thing when you are remodeling someone else's house. He wanted me to go with him today but I told him that I had to clean the house.

But here I am. Did everyone see that weather! It's suppose to get to 70 by the end of the week!!!!!

I can't wait. Not everyone shares my happyness with warm weather around here but the hotter the better I say! Otherwise everything is good here. Would have gone to Neilsville but like BBCB it was 3 hours away for me. Well hope everyone has a great sunshiny day!
Drive safe BCC!

Hey Becky my girls want to come and visit your fainting goats. I showed them your website and they watched the goat video about 50 times and laughed their heads off...I told them I'd ask!
