DrHa... Are you psychic?! I was disappointed to look in the Bator this morning and not see a single pip. Then I bumped the table and sent a couple eggs rolling. And what should my wondrous eyes should appear... A PIP!!!!!

The baby even peeped hello to me!

It isn't my fault the window on the Bator popped open a bit so I could peep first either...

Morning All~
Sorry I missed a day.....got a migraine and just did not feel lie reading.
Everyone is great here. I'm going to set the Game Fowl eggs from CA right after I get done here. Other then that just not a bunch to report! The Welsummer ventured out into the snow for the first time. She got about two steps out pecked at it and came right back into the coop. She just stood on the ramp leading outside, looking all forlorn...Poor thing. I did give them some grapes today. Don't know if they are eating them or not.
I caught up but can't remember much! BUT...Congrats on the PIP bf4! Best of luck on the hatch!

I have NO clue what egg she is laying.

hatching eggs is MY favoritest thing to do, naming them is my kids favoritest thing to do.

I have a question for y'all. DH mentioned that he (read me) wants to try to set and incubate EMU eggs. I told him to wait on calling his emu connection until I ask and get a response as to whether or not someone here wants to be a pawnee. Me, being the pawner, I'd incubate and hatch out the chicks or whatever they are called and then you, being the pawnee, would agree to give them a home.
Emu's are terrific livestock guardians and once they are full sized they can and kill predators. I know for a fact they they kill coyotes. I will say that until they are full grown, they are on the food chain to so speak so you will need to keep them safe like you would your chickens and rabbits. Once they are adults, not much can take them down and they can live with goats, sheep, cows, horses, and such quite well.
So anyway, this is the first step in this thought. If some one is interested, PM me and we can go from there.

Oh Wow !!! I'd Love some Emu's !!! Put me on the list for pretty sure. I have to talk to OM though since he would be doing the building. What and how much do these things eat I should ask !!

Someone on here a few years ago and a whole thread on hatching them out. they are like the size of a big nerf football. Real cool looking eggs that is for sure !! And I don't want all roosters !!! lol

well I went to the silkie coop and all 3 broodys were in the same nest

so I stuffed all the eggs in 1 box

told them all to share them! lol
Frizzle still hasn't layed an egg (no blue streaked eggs

so I'm outside and the kids yell MOM! like as if something was wrong, I come a running out of the shed only to find out that DS6 lost a tooth! :sigh:

the whole emergency was because of the fact that it was bleeding

good thing it fell out today, cause yesterday the tooth fairy was negative $5!

later all I got to much CRAP to do and tomorrow I got even MORE to do. still didn't get the stupid Christmas decorations down

and now I gotta trim goatie hooves. and add some rock or something into their outside pen so the water can drain away

does the work EVER stop? oh and I get to file taxes too! YAY! I like that!
