Cind, I'm glad you made it home safe! And, yes, I'm used to hearing the term saddles, but they're so cute & make the girls look like they're wearing little dresses or aprons so I call them aprons.

Bf4, I am soooooooooo terribly sorry to hear of your first loss. That is so tough, for sure.

But DrH is correct that it just might not have been strong enough to survive. And if it couldn't survive hatching, there's no guarantee it would have lived had you helped it out. It might have survived for a little while but died later. You just never know. So try not to beat yourself up over it. We all know how much you wanted him to survive.

OK, I am going to try this again..
No, I am not about to go back and read two weeks worth of posts..
I don't remember what I said in my last post a couple of weeks ago, so if I repeat
myself, bear with me.

My Bl Laced Red wyandotte rooster killed my barred rock roo.. I found one on craigs list and bought it sight unseen. (long story) turns out to be a cross breed of some sort, looks like a barred
americana. more gray and white than black and white. not very tame or friendly.

today I went North of Merrill and bought another barred rock roo. this one is much nicer. I tried to pen them together, but the amer X roo wouldn't stop fighting, so I tossed him into another pen.
He is destined for the soup pot, I think..

I got a new dog. Nora. she is a pure bred Maremme.. she is already spoiled rotten. not much of a guard dog, that I can tell.. however we don't have any elephants or crocodiles hanging around..

I would like to get her bred to a same breed male.. anyone know where I can locate one ?

my next learning experience will be to submit pictures..

thanks everyone, DS(6) has been sleeping on and off all day, hopefully the medicine they gave him at the ER this am will help, he is still running a fever, will probably take a bit before he starts feeling like himself. For those of you who have seen him in action know that he is always on the go.... yesterday and today he is still and only moving when needed.

DS(10) and I have been hanging out together today as DD and DH are still gone working on a unit. He helped make some brownies and now just finished making his valintine's day box for school. He is looking for his sister to get back.

making buns for tomorrow, batches 5&6 are being kneeded (in the bread machines) right now. we're having chili and buns at church tomorrow night and yours truelly gets to make all the buns.

Jim, you can highlight this post (just my words) RIGHT click on the highlighted text and click print (in the pop up) and then selection (the little dot next to selection) and print then you can keep these directions for future use.

click on insert image, a box pops up, there's 2 tabs
browse computer and image URL
click on browse computer, click on "browse..." it takes you to your computer for you to find the picture that you want to show us. click on that picture, click on open, click on submit. *

OR if the picture is IN BYC, open another tab in your browser (ie internet explorer, google chome.....?) go to BYC, click on My profile and WAY down at the bottom some where are your pictures that you have uploaded to the site. open a picture and RIGHT click on it, a pop up list appears click on copy. come back into your reply and right click, click on paste. *

*NOW to resize that picture cause it is going to be big, click on the picture and you will notice the little squares in the corners? click AND drag the little box toward the center of the picture to what ever size you want it. (we will be able to click on the picture and view it bigger)

Ahhh finally home! I am soo relaxed I feel like going to bed. What an excellent spa! Me and BFF stopped for Mexican for dinner cause we were both starving...it was delish!

Welcome back Jim! To make it easier to use this site, download google chrome for your internet browser instead of using Internet Explorer. There are a lot of glitches when you use IE......

Bf4 I am sorry about your chick, I have hatched out call ducklings and have had the same thing happen many times...... fully developed ducklings that pip but cannot get out (for other reasons than your baby chick)... it is heartbreaking to see them all folded up in the shell absolutely perfect and yet completely still.

If any of you are looking for new computers, try TigerDirect. You can get used or refurbished computers that are top notch! The used computers are usually the ones businesses lease to their employees. I have gotten two laptops from them and they have been fantastic!

Since I do not have the room for a proper size garden for my family, I have been looking into participating in a CSA. Anybody ever participate on one and have any suggestions? The one I was a member of before is no longer doing CSA memberships.
