Just as I'm getting ready to type a note my cell phone gets a text....man and it's in the other room.....shoooooot....*goes and checks cell while grumbling*
Well, guess it was good I checked. DH wants glamour shots of Midge and Valerie. Apparently they could be famous....Wonder what is going on......
The next puzzler will be do chickens even have glam shots and what constitutes a glam shot of a chicken? Where is BF4 when I need her?

Well, got another text from the DH...gotta go shoot some hens.....

The shoot is done. Midge was like Ok I can do this and how is this angle working for ya? and Valerie was like NOOOOOOOO!!!! NOT THE CAMERA!! It was only after I got the shots that I found out that Midge was not Midge but one of the other PR's. The one that doesn't like to be touched. Looked at is apparently just fine but touched-not so much!!
I also took one of Super Glue being mean and broody and one of the little PR pullets. Those pullets are going to be good models!! It was hard just getting a shot of one! They all thought they needed to be in the "spread" or what ever it is that is going on! LOL!! Of course the camera is "Shiiinnnney"....and they are birds after all......

Hi Everyone. I'm sorry if this has been talked about and I missed it but I looked back about 10 pages and didn't come across anything about it.
Anyway, is anyone going to Fond Du Lac this weekend? My sister and I went last spring and I found the prettiest little splash OEGB. Sadly, she became critter food last fall. I would like to find another like her. Does anyone know who in that area would have sold her to me and if they might be coming to the sale this weekend? Anyone else have OEGBs?

it sure was nice to do chores and take my time about it.. the birds are loving this warm weather. they are all walking around with big smiles on their faces..

most of the guineas are up in the pine tree.. I hope they come down at sunset..

I got a PM from somebody having bator problems from the incubating thread. I answered him/her/them , and got a reply that they do not agree with my diagnosis.. they claim the turner motor is causing the temp to rise..alright, OK, have it your way.. but that cannot happen..
they are a first time hatcher, I guess they know more than I do.. why do people bother to ask when they won't listen?

The pancakes I made for breakfast have worn off,, now I am hungry again.. tonight is mashed potatoes and swedish meatballs with thick brown gravey ,, and buttered beets..

Marlene called me, she is looking for Buff Orpington chicks.. anybody have any ? I would even hatch some eggs for her if I could get some.. anybody??

Jim, I could probably ship you buff orpington eggs. I have a friend who breeds them. Let me see what she'll sell them to me for. She only gets $2 a chick so it can't be too much.

Ok, I talked to her. She said $10 a dozen. I could maybe ship them with the call duck eggs.

Hello funny and chatty people! I went to help vaccinate some chicks today at a person's house who I am acquanted with. Been doing it for a few years now. He pays me a couple bucks for it. No biggy. He just needs some help. But then he starts telling me what he is doing with his four "mean" roosters and that about sends me over the line for the rest of the day emotionally. Let's just say the little man has a sparring match with them and they almost die and he wins. For a few days. I just want to get the roosters out of there now, but he still needs them for AI. Even if I do get them they will be replaced with others. It just drives me crazy to think about this~took an anxiety pill~ still didnt calm me down at all. I think it would be better if I never even went back there to help him again. But I want to get the roosters. As if I didnt have enough already. I would just like to show them a little freedom and happiness for a while. Poor things. This just really gets me. Am I crazy?

Nope not crazy. Animal abuse is animal abuse. And from what you said, he is abusing those roosters regardless if they are mean or not. I'd call animal control (?) and lodge a complaint. Unfortunately, it might be a case that unless they see him abuse the roosters they may not be able to do anything? I feel sorry for those poor roosters. I wish I had a better answer.

BBP< that would suit me just fine.. let me know when OK? I will have to fire up an incubator..
It only takes me a couple of hours or less to warm one up..

If he spars with those roosters, he is only teaching them to be meaner..

Thank You BBP MLH and jim for listening and all of your replies. It is helping me . I think I am beginning to have a plan. But I will have to continue to help him for a while more.
