Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Tiki, it would be great if you could get video but I bet audio would do. Ask animal control what you need to do to help their case.

The ducks had a good time in the yard today, they were attempting to swim in 3" of water in the yard. Gave them some eggshells today but they did not show too much interest.

BBP, where are you located? I could meet you halfway for those eggs for Jim if you want. Save you the shipping and that way you know the eggs will actually make it there without broken air cells. I'll let you know when my calls start laying so we can coordinate our runs.

Well, TO puts up some of the most insightful posts and then runs away. Breaks BYC and hides.

I wish I has this whole week off, I have no motivation to do anything right now.... did not get the taxes done today either. Oh well, there is always Saturday.

one meal worm each and the Barred Rock pullets are coming and jumping into hands!

I should have my large brooder/ grow pen built by the weekend, kinda like the one Jim? showed on here with a few of my own mods.

We're here for you Tiki! Hope your plan works! Good Luck!

Ok my Peeps!! Listen Up!!!

THIS IS A CHEESE HEAD PUBLIC PEEP ANNOUNCEMENT!!!

DH and Nutrena need your help! They are making a poster advertising some of the more common chicken breeds for one of their chains in Iowa. What they need are some good high resolution pictures (no camera phones!!) of the following breeds. They will need you to sign a release allowing them to use your hens photo/image but then that is the price of fame!! DH and I want to make this fun so if your hens photo is selected for the promotional poster, the your chicken will receive a free 7# bag of the new scratch sku!
Now! To the breeds the store wants for their poster! They are:

Plymouth Barred Rock
Buff Orpington
Gold and Silver Laced Wyandottes
Ameraucana/Easter Egger
White Leghorn
New Hampshire Red

If you have any of these breeds and would like to participate please send you photo/photos to me and I will pass them on. I will also need to get the release to you if you photo is selected.

Angiebubs, Delila is going to be broody until she has chicks. She's a dorking and they are stubborn. If I were you, I'd leave her on the nest for a few days and then pop a couple of day old chicks under her. Or, put her in a nest box nobody uses (if you have one) with a few fertile eggs. I can give you some bantam cochin or lavender orpington eggs to use. You will be battling with her all summer if you don't let her have chicks. She's a super broody.

BBP I would LOVE to get some Lav Orp eggs from you and let her sit on them. I just have to get pat this trip to Vegas (see my dad). Think it will torment her too much to wait/be broody until Mid April? That would be SOOOOO exciting-LOL Watching a hen with chicks running around. Deliliah is still one of my favorites-she is so beautiful!!!

I live in Amery.
Angiebubs, she will still be broody by mid-April, guaranteed. I could pass a few eggs your way when you're ready. Just let me know.

I will get better pictures, but here are a couple of my bantam cochins:

Ok... My newest health complaint: double ear infection. I am totally serious! I took my ds (almost 6) in to have his ear rechecked from his infection a couple weeks ago. Not only was that ear not cleared up, but his other ear was infected now. Then it was my turn. Double for mom too. Just dumb fraking germs and crap over here! :(

Ok rant done...
